Love my Milwaukee, been using them for years on my builds. Milwaukee, Craftsman, and Dewalt are my go to’s.

I decided on Milwaukee years ago when choosing to get into one battery like. They seem to have one of the best selections of tools related to what I get into daily with cars, small engines and occasionally with home repair.

Check out the insider ratchet. You get all three sizes in one tool. 1/4 and 3/8 anvils cone in the kit and the 1/2 can be purchased as well. Great line up and video.

Thanks for the tip! That’s one tool that when I saw it come out I had no interest because I already had these ratchets, but if I find myself in a space where mine are too fat at the top, I’ll be eyeballing the insider 👍

What people don't talk about these tools is they are meant for everyday car mechanics who change brake pads every hour. If you rarely work on your car you can get away with a manual wrench.

Well...Try that manual wrench in the rust belt...not gonna happen. Try it with arthritis and it's not gonna happen even more. These tools are meant for whoever needs them, not just daily mechanics.

I see you grabbing the new Gen 2 stubby. 550lb of torque in an extremely compact package.

It’s high up on my list that’s for sure 👍👍

For automotive I take mid torque over high torque, I broken couple of lugs and bolts with the high torque I stopped using it only keep it for heavy duty vehicles that have like 8 lugs torqued to heaven

+ Never buy 1/4 electric ratchet, is so unnecessary
@TorqueAndTwisted8 ай бұрын
With the new high torque you can choose to use lower setting in worried about exploding fasteners. I do agree tho, the mid torque should be able to do 99% of what most passenger vehicles have going on.

Should I go with the 1/2inch or 3/8 inch stubby impact?
@TorqueAndTwistedАй бұрын
Depends what you’re doing mostly. Big stuff all day, go with the 1/2” if you have room to fit the bigger sockets into the space. I prefer my 3/8 for stubby because I’m already using stubby for tight clearance
@RedWolfRaidrАй бұрын
@ do you think it would be reasonable to get the 3/8 ratchet and the 1/2 impact wrench and the impact would likely mostly be used for heavier duty bolts and anything smaller and less heavy duty could be done with the 3/8 ratchet?
@TorqueAndTwistedАй бұрын
The 3/8 M12 ratchet isn’t going to break anything free. I’d skip the ratchet and get the new 3/8 Stubby which has 550 ft lbs of breakaway force (about 10X that of the ratchet). The high torque M18 impact might be overkill for a lot of people if you’re not working on big rusty stuff all the time. If I didn’t have any of the tools in the Milwaukee line right now, I would get the brand new stubby and see how far I can get before it gets stumped. Its not very often that you’re gonna come across a bolt that’s torque harder than 550 foot pounds if you’re just working on regular cars and trucks.

Sell me that old m12 ratchet. 😀
@TorqueAndTwisted7 ай бұрын
I gotta keep that ratchet around, reason being, it’s much shorter than the extended version and I like there’s going to be a time where the longer one won’t fit. If you’re hunting for one, Home Depot’s online daily deals often bundle the M12 Ratchet with another useful M12 tool or battery for decent price…or eBay for a used ok for maybe $50
