As far as modifications to make a tinny better go, this is by FAR the best I have done. The boat is now in another level all together. If you have any hesitations about getting a boat collar, watch this first.
Watch as I give you a full rundown review of the boat prior to and after the collar install. This is all completely unbiased and I am not associated with the Company at all.

Best small boat review I’ve seen in years. So many “reviews” don’t even demonstrate stability of a hull. Well done Usual review is just a couple of rednecks measuring top speed 😅

You wont regret it mate. I've been using it so much lately with 4 people on board. The boat used to feel sketchy with 4 POB now I have no worries at all with them. You can have people roll in to go snorkelling and the boat doesn't dangerously list like it used to.

Excellent review of your tinnie and the great benefits of fitting the "collar" to the tinnie. I'm just beginning to learn as much as l can about all thing's relating to boating. Being a complete novice and wanting to get back into fishing but this time around, using a boat and of course for pleasure/recreation. Don't know yet whether to get a tinnie or a fibreglass boat. I will seek the advice of others as to which type would be best for my intended use. I want a boat for lakes/dams, rivers and coastal bay fishing only, I have no desire at all to venture out into "open waters". New subscriber, to your channel. Regards, Brian.

Hi Brian, thanks for the feedback! I wish you all the best in getting back on the water. If you don't have any intention of hitting anything too rough then its hard to go past the tinnies. Lighter, harder to damage, often cheaper and easier to maintain. Cheers, ORT.

@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Yes so far it has been durable. If you hit it hard on the trailer or with anchor then expect to take chunks out of it but its just cosmetic more than anything. The hull thickness has been no problem at all. No visible flex and I've bashed it into some pretty rough weather. Cheers, ORT.

Good review. Boat punching above it's weight and I bet that water was chopier than looked in the video. I'm sure youve push it further and bit curious to know if you have manged to get any water over the bow. Cheers and thanks for posting.
@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels 5 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. Yeh the vids never do the weather justice, particularly on the gopro with image stabilisation. I've definitely been out in much worse, and you can push it hard directly into an oncoming wave and I honestly have never had one come over the bow. Reason being is that the harder you come down, the more up pressure against the massive reverse chine in the collar which pushed you up. It's just a ripper of a design. I'm sure you could do it if you went and charged into a breaking wave but in normal driving conditions, it doesn't happen. Cheers, ORT

@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels 2 жыл бұрын
Hey James, they are just PVC mate. Cut to size for the boat and then fixed with alloy rivets. They work a treat for travelling but I wouldn't trust them for trolling with any heavy gear. Cheers, ORT.

They look awesome. Just one question if you don't mind? When you were turning fast it looked as though it was cornering a lot flatter. Do you think it would increase the risk of it rolling over if the outside was hit by a wave or large chop?
@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels 2 жыл бұрын
It corners like its on rails. Whether I think it would be more risky to rolling, no I don't. Not in the slightest. The massive reverse chine would make it near on impossible to roll unless you literally got dumped by a breaking wave. The biggest risk I see with the collar through corners, and I am guilty of it, is throwing your passengers around. Reason being is that when driving from the tiller you can really throw it into corners and it handles so well but you forget about the poor passenger up front and them getting thrown to one side. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hey mate im pretty sold on getting some for my stacer 3.6 since i want to be out in the bay abit mud harrys etc so do you have to drill into the hull? I dont really want to make holes low in the hull... but i also dont want a bigger boat because i tow with a sedan and i like my little boat and ots cheap on fuel with my yami 15hp
@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels Жыл бұрын
Hi Jay, 100% you drill through the hull - BUT 100% do not worry about it. They do not leak and they actually have level floatation with the collar on. I've left the bungs out and gone for a fish and it wont sink. Check out my newest install video if you want to see whats involved with the install. FYI I'd be reluctant to head out to Harrys in anything but perfect weather in a 3.6 tinny without a collar, its a decent run home when the weather turns. Cheers, ORT.

@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels Жыл бұрын
Hey Craig, I've got to be honest I don't really handline. I would think if you're using heavy line it wouldn't really cut in it to - the outer layer of the collar is a hard layer, not soft foam. I've had plenty of braid rub against it when big fish have gone under the boat and no issue. Cheers, ORT

@ourrealitytravels
@ourrealitytravels 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jordan, its markedly improved on every angle. What happens is where the point of the hull parts the water and it normally throws the water up and gets blown back into your face it instead hits the collar and is deflected down. When it is really choppy you will still get some back at the tiller when cutting across it on the port or starboard bow, but if you're on the beam or straight on the bow the spray is no existent. I was pleasantly surprised with the difference.

Hi Harry, Yes I had to raise the skids on the trailer by about 100mm on each side so that the collar clears the guards. It would depend on each individual trailer but the instructions also remind people to do this to avoid the collar fouling. Cheers, ORT
