Fun fact... I used to work at 2 different Bennigan's. 1 of which is still open. Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. As far as I know it's the last 1 but as of April 2024, it's still open.

Apparently Bennigans still exists, only like 11 locations in the US, one in melbourne florida. My sister was a waitress at one like 33 years ago. Used to get the monte cristo every time i went in.

When I worked in the restaurant we used to make these but we dipped them in a French toast batter. They were softer obviously. Yours looks a lot better! Great job CJ!

Two part question 1. How safe is it to use that aluminum pan on the Blackstone? 2. Would it be possible to use a cast iron skillet or would it take too long to get it to temp?

Great questions!! It’s totally safe to use both. You won’t have any issues with it messing up your griddle top! I’ve used aluminum pans multiple times with recipes over the years now. It’s awesome!

I want to get more monte christo sandwiches. Havarti Cheese is pretty awesome. Deep frying in oil might not be necessary, and the bisquick batter might not be absolutely necessary. The toated bread was interesting.
