As the 5500 doesnt support 4th gen pcie or memory , any B550 is not good a match for $ its not appropriate, . You can buy the B450 that has feature sets that match that of the 5500 or G model CPUs for considerably less cash , B550 are going to be needed to take advantage of feature sets on non G model 3000 and 5000 CPU with the exception of the 5500 as it is a down graded 5600G do to chiplets that were not good enough to reach performance specs of a 5600G, the best match CPU for price vs performance for B550s is the 3600 series CPU, and best B550 for the $ right now is the Asrock M Pro SE less than 80$ every week, which is not mentioned , this video is very miss leading , dont use this info in your build you will leave money and performance on the table, and that is a fact,, not my opinion, and i do know the difference . That said i do prefer MSI boards, they just have a better BIOS in my opinion and the dummy light can really help out with trouble shooting for first time builder . In closing a 3600 will perform just as good as a 5500 on a B550, but a 5500 will out perform a 3600 on a B450 (fact) . Its not that the B450 is a better board than the B550 its that the 5500 doesn't have support for the features that make the B550 a better board, the 5600 is the real CPU for a B550 and out performs the 3600 by quite a bit unlike the 5500 , besides the lack of modern memory support it also has half the memory cache of the 3600 .

Tbh since Ryzen 5 5500 is an entry level gaming cpu. You can also pair it with the MSI A520M. The only thing that actually stops people from buying these motherboards are the other features inside a B450 which won't even be used that often aside from overclocking "which I doubt a viable choice if someone wants to keep their pc healthy and the warranty". Ryzen 5 5500 does not support PCIE .4, That alone is a go to buy for A520M if you are not really planning on overclocking the CPU.

this is just not correct, the B550 is a great board but the 5500 doesnt support the features that make the B550 better than a B450, using a 5500 on a B550 makes it no better than a B450 , go with a 3100 or 3600 CPU (50 to 70 $ used ) or a 5600 (100$ used or 120$ new) ,, the 3600 and 5500 are both 85$ new, and 3600 unlike the 5500 has modern memory support and twice the memory cache . The 5500s best use is upgrading a CPU in a older AM4 board that doesnt have 4th gen support .

video is misleading, if the CPU was a 5600 , 3100, or 3600 it would be useful info, but if your considering a 5500 CPU,, no , the best use of a 5500 is upgrading a system that uses a B450, b350, A320, or A520 and doesnt have 4th gen support, B550 is a good idea but spending the money on a CPU that cant make use of the modern features of a B550 is a waist, if needed throw a 2400g, or 1600 in a B550 for 35$ and when you get the money put a 5600 in it , or put 3600 in it it will perform just as well as 5500 as it supports 4th gen memory( both are same price new) , the lack 4th gen support nerfs the performance of the 5500 down to that of 3600 on a B550 . That said a 5500 will out perform a 3600 on a B450 board, but not on a B550 .
