Hi J, great to hear HiFi advice to optimise pc's. I too use my pc for streaming and as a nas. I also use my pc to work with music Thank you.

Thanks Jay window optimization is critically important that being said don't underestimate a Mini PC from Amazon $70. With a dedicated audio streaming program like Daphile or Volumio has full merit. Especially when it comes to customization in the Audio realm. Please consider it in the future.

Yeah I agree, I think having that customisation and flexibility to always tweak and improve the sound makes things more interesting in the long run.

Hi Jacques, can you either do a video or comment here about what an ideal PC build is to use as a network streamer? Looking to use my pc to work on but also be my music source. So looking for more info about software and sound cards/what hardware to update to make it best as a network music player, thanks

I may do a full video in the future on this topic, it really depends what your budget is and how much space you have, the sky really is the limit when it comes to building a computer based audio system. If you don’t have tons to spend and a lot of space, I would look into buying a mini pc, check out the beelink u59 pro, it does not have the best processor but neither do most budget oriented network streamers. Once you have that in place, look into tweaking windows and the BIOS, If you have more to spend, look into linear power supplies for your PC, this will make a big difference, possibly a DDC as well, the list could go on but for now it’s best to focus on the essentials.

The higher dac link value, the better (it’s stated on their user manual). 😊

I bought a really expensive HDMI cable, and suddenly, all of my 720p content upscaled into 8K!
