Thank you so much for this and all your videos! This has been a staple for not only me to watch, but for when I need travel videos for work, as well! I work at a retirement home and love showing your videos, especially when it’s places my residents been to! All your historic facts you throw in not only teaches me, but the residents about their favorite places and I really appreciate that, so thank you!

Asbury is a very beautiful (albeit busy) beach. One thing to keep in mind, you have to pay to go inside the beach itself. It seems to be a thing with the Northern Beaches

I have small kids under 10 and they love Wildwood. I’ve gone to OCMD but thats more of a college/younger crowd. Wildwood is really family friendly with tons of retro style mini golf, arcades, restaurants. We’ve been going there since they were born and love it. The water, beach, and boardwalk are really nice and clean.

Cape May is one of my favorite NJ places. Love it. Saw a fledgling band called Led Zeppelin open for Joe Cocker the weekend of Woodstock, 1969. Cocker was helicoptered in from Woodstock. Great night.

Come one now, how you going to tell people Atlantic City is a great fun place to go to. It’s an absolute dumpster fire crap hole. Crime, Drugs, Homeless run that town. It’s a very scary place to be. Those 10pm Sirens are to remind people to get the F- Indoors. Nothing good happens at night there OR during the day. Biggest mistake I made was going there for the Air Show last year. And it’s reviews like this that lead me astray to think it’s a decent place.. There was a crack head giving the lifeguard on duty a lap dance, old homeless guy in a thong picking through the beach trash cans. Homeless tents all over, people living under the boardwalk, and on top of the board walk. We couldn’t trust our belongings on the beach while we were in the water. The ONLY exception for going to Atlantic City is if you drive there and stay in the casino along with keeping your car in one of the casino parking garages. Absolutely do not leave the casinos. I don’t gamble so that part doesn’t even appeal to my needs. Do the people a service and make a video showing what Atlantic City really is like. There’s a reason houses are boarded up, and beach front lots are empty with for sale signs that nobody wants to build on.

@@dereksmith2828 thank you for stopping by my video. This isn’t so much a review of these beaches but more of a small biography towards their larger impact to American History. As someone who’s been visiting Atlantic City for more than 20 years, I agree. It’s absolutely surrounded by declining neighborhoods. But it’s also a place where family members, friends, and co-workers enjoy visiting, even if I don’t gamble and just go for the nightlife. Mileage may vary. If you ever go to places like Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, and even the Eiffel Tower in France, it’s almost identical when stepping outside the attraction. Since these are high tourist areas, they tend to be in the most declining conditions where many people move to the area seeking work at the attraction and others find tourist as an easy target (the Pyramids of Giza or filled with pick pockets) It’s not so much to fault the city or attraction, but it’s more the local establishment. We’ve seen places like Time Square go from the most dangerous in America to practically NYC’s Disneyland thanks to strong initiatives from officials who want to change the image (Gov. Cuomo and Mayor David Dinkins, to Giuliani/Pataki, and extent, Bloomberg) There are dozens of videos on KZbin about the negative of these places to the point of becoming exploitative material for sub gains. I wanted to do something different and showcase at some positive and history since images tend to change with time. This has been fantastic feedback and I thank you for taking the time to give such a thoughtful response. I will include some of the downsides moving forward as I have with other videos.
