Today I'm excited to share not only one of the best releases of the year, but one of the most significant and beautifully realized watches from Omega in 2022. In a never-ending sea of limited-edition Speedmasters and 007 Seamasters, the CK 859 is a refreshing Art Deco capolavoro and tribute to one of the most important in-house calibers from Omega. Not only did the legendary 30T2 calibre lay the foundation for what the brand is today, but it also helped mankind during some of the world's darkest hours. Join me for an unboxing and mini review where I share the positives, negatives, specifications, analysis of the style, design evolution, history, and everything else you need to know about this world-changing watch.

So much more interesting than the usual divers! This is an Omega with a Longines soul - wonderful!! Unfortunately the price makes it unaffordable for me unless I sell at least 7-8 of my watches, which I won't do, but I can dream.........

Easily one of the best releases of the last few years, let alone this year… this watch lends itself to so much potential when considering flanker releases (like a 36mm or 37mm alternative), etc… hopefully this can almost grow into a new line of watches for Omega…

Well presented! To someone as old as I am (59), my engineering background, and a serious collection of watches, I have to say that its brilliant. Its the golden rule intersection between a casio g shock and a gold daydate president. To be worn on building sites, meeting rooms and fancy restaurants. Well done Omega and well done you on your presentation!

That’s beautiful, really captures the 1930s and 1940s elegant styling perfectly. My great uncle’s 1940-something Omega is still in the family and is a beautiful small seconds piece a lot like this. Also, it’s fantastic for Omega to be releasing something other than a ‘Limited’ Edition Speedmaster for once.

I don't often get exited when new watches get released but this one made me read the article I saw about it. Its such an understated offering from Omega, it wont sell well but the omega catalogue is much better for having this in it. If I didn't have the Stowa Marine Classic this would be pretty high on my list right now. For a brand steeped in history they don't often look back, aside from the naming. (Some may say thats a good thing) Sure there is the Speedmaster, Seamaster, Ploprof and museum ranges but there is soo much more out there in their back catalogue. Id be all up for a reissue of the 60s Seamaster with a manual wound calibre and some dark coloured dials similar to the Cartier tank dials from the other year.

Love the review TGV! Keep up the good work. Couple of weeks ago while I was getting the new 57 from my AD, I mentioned seeing the upcoming CK online. A week later my AD called to tell me he just got one in stock. Even though I was not in the market for a “dress” watch, he told me to come by to see it. Have to say, it gave me a bit of a Patek feel when I wore it. Which is very nice 👍 in my opinion. While I didn’t get it, I can see this being an everyday at the office watch.

The way you theme your intro's is always such a joy to watch. This timepiece is very classy, and surely one for more chique occasions. And to no surprise, the intro is perfect. No wonder you have attacted the attention in showbusiness, your style and effort are among the best on KZbin. Still lusting after the Fortis Bicompax chrono, its finishing and easthetics tick all my boxes. Pulling the trigger will be postoned somewhat, but for good reasons. Supporting my Ukrainian stepbrother defending his country has taken priority. Let's hope they win soon so they all can move onwards and upwards. ❤
