Welcome to Davis! It was way too hot here for graduation weekend. Appreciate your videos, especially your SF shots.

That’s crazy you did a video on the UCDavis campus!! I’ve been watching you before I even got a film camera (copped the Minolta x700 bc you showed me how much you loved it). I’m also a UC Davis student

Alright gang! Thoughts on Kodak Gold 200 for portraits? What’s your go to film stock for portraiture?!

I do a lot of street shooting in Orange County (hit me up if you're in the area!), and yeah getting some snappies on the beach or on the pier is definitely a strong suit for Kodak 200.

Nice pics! Congrats to your friend! I'm also an incoming UC Davis grad (graduate tomorrow) and I'm glad you were able to take some pics on the nicer spots on campus 🙂🙂🙂

Kodak Gold 200 is also a favourite of mine, and better than the 100 and 400 variants. You can use it for everything from Nature to a candlelit dinner.

In Europe/Germany only the Gold200 is available. I can remember that in the 90th 100 and 400 versions were sold.

Been shooting gold 200 for a long time. Love it in 35mm. But in 120 for portraits it looks like a digital photo.

Hey Jonathan! I think would be a great film for portriats. Still haven't had a chance to test it out in 120. Shot some on 35mm and I've noticed it mostly works fine, but as I and my family members are really really light skin or pale rather it tends to make us look a bit sick. Don't know if you encountered that problem yourself? But that's why I usually like Fujis films better. They are a bit colder in tone. Seen that the 120 doesn't have as much of the green cast in the shadows and it could be the magic juice that will give them summer portriats it's own magic.

I can't believe you haven't shot Kodak gold for portraits! It's one of the cheaper but the best films for that! Also, if you want a more accurate color tone, try the Colorplus 200, it's great! Buy more!

Love your channel bro! I’m looking to pick up a 35mm AF point and shoot for a decent price, maybe $100 What do you recommend?
@RaptorYfm250r2 жыл бұрын
I highly recommend the Yashica T3. Might be above your price range but you might find one for around $100... i once found one in a thrift store for $4 🤑

It's so boring. So much better without the hype in 35mm like when we were kids. Color Plus kicks it's ass.

not even close for portrait work, it renders the skin tones so badly.

I have "found" the same love for the 120 kodak gold as well. I was blown away when i shot my first roll on my Rolleiflex a couple of months back, then i bought like 10 more rolls and started shooting it on my Konica Pearl 4 as well, and i LOVE it. So for now its my favorite film for medium format for sure. I always liked it a lot for 135 as well, but like you was very excited to see what it could do on my medium format cameras. So yeh, i approve! :) Great vid Mr King!
