I am a Kawasaki, Yamaha & Triumph fan. I currently own a newish Yamaha and an older Triumph triple. I had planned to get a Kawasaki 900RS new but man the CFMOTO 675 RS is throwing a spanning in my plans ... Decisions decisions for 2025... But you know what with all this choice now the consumer wins! I have previously owned a CFMOTO 300SR for the London commute and had zero issues with it, they are a solid alternative.

Chinese pricing is a little below 800MT Explore. But it's probably doesn't have the radar and a few other software stuff.

If it still uses a KTM engine you'll want to avoid it. Stick with the CT moto designed engines, they're far better.

One of the most important questions I don't see getting asked among all the, "it looks really good, I can't wait to get one" comments is, where do I take it and how available are parts if or when it goes tits up?🤷🏻‍♂️ I've haven't seen or read anything, anywhere about maintenance and parts availability.

The KTM Camshaft issue affects 2021and prior models of the 790. From 2021, CFMOTO took over production and the issues for models release in 2022 and onwards went away, and they released the 800MT and 800NK, which have never had camshaft issues despite using the exact same engine, and were released in Jan 22.

The only downside of CFMOTO is the short service intervals on their 450 twin and 700 twin. The 800MT is 10000 km. Hopefully the 675 is longer too.

IF you want your engine to last you should change the oil every 3,000 miles.

It depends. I change my Z900 oil every 6000 km but the manual said 12000 km. I don't have issue with changing oil early, the issue is that if the manufacturers recommend to change oil at 5k km instead of 12k or 15k, for me, it means they have a lower quality engine. It's like a car warranty for 5 years while another warranty for 10 years. I'm sure most people will buy the one with a longer warranty.

REAL COMMENTER HERE: The 675nk is listed on the benelux site as 6999 euros. Thats 300 cheaper than a Z650. Im in the market for a 2025 bike and the choices are endless I cant decide. 675 being way below my budget and ticking all the boxes. Would you buy a CFMOTO over a trident or MT07??

If the quality is there (apparently it is) Chinese Bikes will change they way we buy bikes in the future and considering you could buy 2 or 3 bikes for the price off one of the current main suppliers models which are way over priced. I hear the are taking back order's due to demand. Plus the styling on most models are over and above all the lackluster models we have been getting.

I went to a CFMoto demo a couple of months ago to try out a 450NK and they also had a 675SS there that you could sit on and even start. Unfortunately the 675's are not certified in the US yet so no test rides but it looks very similar the the 450SS. Impressions of the 450NK (50HP US version) I rode were it has very good power (for a 450), very smooth engine (about the same as my 8S Suzuki), and makes an awesome sound out the tail pipe!

It's not a clone, it literally IS a KTM. Cfmoto makes their engines and likely many other parts. I wouldn't trust it *because* it's a KTM.

This is not a surprise: lower labor costs. This is why most big companies move their manufacturing centers to countries like china, India or thailand. On top of this government subsidies play an important role too.
