Why would you spend more to get less power and more weight…. What use are ride modes when it won’t break traction Kos it’s 5hp less and 20kgs heavier than the e model?

Great breathless overview. Loved it. You missed the new TFT screen on the GSX S1000. The old LCD was one of the weakest points of the bike. Where I live the GSX is likely to be the same price as the base Hornet 1000. Suzuki New Zealand always prices low and Honda high.

I tried the 800 DE (off Road version) when I took my V STROM 650 in for a service and found it to be comfortable and stable with a good turn of speed however at a steady 70mph the vibration was very noticeable particularly though the foot pegs something the 650 doesn’t suffer from to the same extent.

For road touring, which would you recommend, the 1000GX or the 1050RE? Is there a big difference between the two?

Any doubt about the GSX-8R being viable, the aftermarket now takes the factory 76 wheel horsepower to 93, for some aftermarket money, if you're interested. That's playing in RS660 power, with far more torque. More weight, yes, but anything less than 450 pounds is forgettable even though people make a federal case out of it.

GSX 1000GT+ is lovely and would be on my shortlist if I wanted a touring bike. Looks mega. Blue or red?

If only they made the Katana’s fuel tank a bit bigger, just to give it a bit more of open road practicality

Did they re-gear the Drz?
@exothermal.sprocketКүн бұрын
Yes. What exactly I cannot be 100% sure but I've dug into the press release and compared the 3D engine cutaway with color coded "parts changes" with the parts diagram from the old bike, and they have changed gears 2nd, 3rd, and 5th if I can believe the press release.

@aashutoshbhagat2677Күн бұрын
They missed an opportunity with DRZ 400 by not giving it a 6th gear and they also missed a opportunity by not updating the SV650 with LED headlight and USD forks. See if the DRZ 400 got a 6th gear with atleast 39 or 40hp then that engine would be perfect for Asian countries especially India where suzuki fans have been demanding for a single cylinder liquid cooled 400cc bike for years now. They don't have anything apart from Gixxer 155 and 250 series of sports naked and faired sports commuter/tourers,V-strom 250 sx with single cylinder engine with SOCS which is amazing and based on Gixxer 250 . We have V-strom 800 DE , GSX8R ,katana and Hayabusa here in india as the big bikes which don't really sell really well except for Hayabusa 😅 which has a huge fan following thanks to it being used in a popular action film called Dhoom in 2004.

I didn’t realize the gsxs1000 was so high priced…or that the katana was that “low” i guess. I thought the 1000 was a budget litre bike around 10k when i looked at it when it got the refresh and i thought the katana was more around 14-15k. Huh. I still don’t like the looks of the Katana though
@Ripfire777Күн бұрын
Gsxs1000 is the cheapest 1000cc u can get tf
@JagknorrКүн бұрын
yeah i thought it was introd at $10,000 (but actually it was $10,900) but it looks to be 11,999 now. And the new katana introd at 13,500. So its weird when he says its only like $750 more because actually the katana DID go down in price this year.
