This honestly couldn’t have come at a better time. Madz reminds me that regardless of bad situations like loneliness, not so great mental health, heartbreak & uni stress (which I’m going thru rn & I’m literally breaking the FUCK down) life actually gets better & in few years time you can look back & realise how much these hardships changed you as a person for the better x

I think the neighbour noise thing comes from the noise making you aware that there's other people around. When you're in your own place you get to safely dissociate and feel good in your own space so when you get reminded of other people it takes you out of that feeling, and it also makes you feel as if the other people could be aware of your presence too. I get it lol.

I think it won't hurt to talk to your landlord as you said that he's nice. Just explain that you didn't ask if it's quiet for no reason and that you really trusted him and took him at his words. Of course, people can have different understandings of what quiet means to them. But THIS [play video/audio of noise] is not commonly considered as 'quiet'. And If you had known you wouldn't have agreed to even the other person's offer to get the flat in the first place (doesn't have to be 100 % true but still). In Germany, the landlord is obliged to inform future tenants about any construction works nearby and how long they'll last. If that wasn't the case tenants have the right to decrease their rent by x % until the construction work is done. If there's an analogous law in the UK you can back yourself up with the legal details. If not, it'd still be fair to reclaim the extra money you agreed to pay for as long as the noise will impact your life. IN SHORT 1 - arouse compassion 2 - guilt trip gently 3 - show the evidence 4 - know the law 5 - propose compromise

You definitly should its not fair on you to have spent so much money and time to then have to accomadate people that dont even live with you and leave London multiple times to get peace. Like what would even be the reason of the apartment at that time.

random people noise is the reason i cant have roommates. im so hyper aware and every little step i can hear makes me feel violent. and i realize its ME cuz people cant be completely silent, but thats why i have to live alone, i dont wanna know what others are doing or have that occupy my mind in any capacity

look into auditory processing disorder Madeline ☺️ I’m autistic and have adhd. Yet you do not have to be autistic to have auditory processing disorder!! But if you want to look into it it’s never too late i got diagnosed with autism at 22. There are a lot of overlapping symptoms of autism and adhd like stimming and sensory issues. They are just more prominent in autistic ppl. Noise cancelling headphones are a great tool for auditory sensory issues! Sorry about the construction tho that is awful 😞

@@IspeakasTheFathertellsme Please get a hobby!! People like you are the reason it took me so long to get the help I needed in the first place. Seriously shame on you. Take care and stop preaching to strangers online it is very cultic, obsessive, and quite frankly really inhumane. Treat people with kindness. Stop putting your religious beliefs before the well being of others. This is coming from someone with a history of religious trauma which those similar to you have caused!

Love your videos mads I also struggle with the noise thing and getting annoyed and raged at random noises I have MISOPHONIA which is a disorder that certain sounds trigger emotional or psychological respones for example wjen I hear a repeating noise of anything someone tapping or just repeating something my heart rate races sweaty palms start to hyperventilate and feel angry 😂thought this might help as there are many different noises for different people like yours could be unexpected noises that make u feel anxiety and raged 😊❤thought this could help if u wanted to research x

You suffer from “Misophonia” it is linked to ADHD and autism, I have an extreme case of it and found out that it’s an actual brain disorder a few years ago. Essentially your body goes into fight or flight mode when hearing triggers sounds (eating, foot steps ect) ❤
