Thank you for reviewing this, I have been waiting for someone to review this since I found this gimbal about a month ago. There was literally no coverage of this gimbal that goes in depth as you did. You showcased the app well, I didn't know you could lock the Exposure, that is a huge plus and it really makes me want to use the app instead of using alternatives, and changing the lens? Hi, I loved the review and bought the gimbal. I used your link, so although I am in Australia I hope you still get your small commission. It was also cheaper using your link than the other seller on Amazon. I love the detail in your reviews and as a Samsung user I am glad you don't forget Android like most other reviewers do. Perhaps another video using the software in more detail would be nice, but this review is an excellent summation. Hi Zdenka! I thought this AOCHUAN might be the one Gimbal I was looking for, until we got to the 24 FPS and the camera with the added lens’ balance issue! Hi zdenka. I've been watching your vlogs and learning more and more. I've tried FeiyuTech vimble s then moza mini se followed by DJI osmo3 (2x) and then DJI OM4. All were returned coz I am strictly an android user and most of these gimbal are geared towards iphone I find. Until I saw this last night. Only gimbal I know of with removable battery ...big point for me and the fact that the app applies to both apple and android smart phones with the exception of 24fps for android. The inception is kind of limited but both I can live with. Price wise this is a steal for all that it offers. Because of your thorough unbiased honest review I chose to buy this and ordered today. Hi Zdenka! First of all: I subbed your channel because of your very clear and structured way to explain. You are a KZbin-Lady that deserves to earn good money with it, hats off to the way you got there, including Modelling/Photography.. (yes, I watched quite a few of your videos so far ;-)) Now to my main concern in this comment: I bought this Aochouan Smart XR for my new Galaxy S21 Ultra. Phone is at 230 grams, but it handles the weight quite good. The only thing missing (besides the 24fps) is the anti-shake mode! That's too bad, as your test of it shows a big change in video stabilization.. And I can only pick ultra-wide and normal lens. Samsung has these as only ones available in native app "pro mode" .. maybe will be "free for all" after some updates. Ah, and that multi-lens-shooting is not available either, minor fail. But I'll keep the Gimbal anyways (testet Nimbal V3 with horrible wheel plus no grip and FeiyouTech with bad apps..). It has this wonderfully working Focus-Wheel! And I will learn a lot from you, looking forward to all this. Great help for my new B-Roll attempts for my FPV-Freestyle videos on my own channel ;-) Sorry for this long comment, best luck for all your future projects! :-)

This is my 3rd gimbal. I'm dismayed that there are not more android compatible units. But I just got this one and will give it a try. Your video is very helpful. I was looking at the DJI Pocket Osmo 2 but now I think I'll look into this gimbal instead. Love all the features of the app. Don't remember what phone you used, I have the Android on Samsung S20 with Armor case that makes the phone about twice as thick, so have to check the acceptable phone dimensions. Great review. Thanks much. Oh, forgot to ask, is there a tripod screw mount on the gimbal?

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Yes there is a screw at the bottom and it comes with small tripod and selfie stick. I still will be doing comparison of top three gimbals in a week just to be absolutely sure. DJI OM4, Moza Mini MX and this one... I’ll also show Moza Mini P. Those are the top this year I had a chance to review... But I do fully agree. Those features are amazing and pretty much has everything. I tested it with Samsung galaxy S 10+

For the counterweights, a pendrive or an OTG will do the trick. Even the type C to 3.5mm converter cable that comes with phones will also be able to balance certain external lenses. For balancing heavier lenses, some cheap earphones can also be connected.

Just because I wasn't doing video I was focused on my still landscape photography but when I started feeling lead to get into video I knew I could trust your honest informative information. Hi there it is nice to see you as well. If you do have also and 50 then I would suggest to wait a little bit. Wait for Monday’s video when I’m gonna be reviewing Moza mini P. That one can be used with your smart phone and M50 as well. But if you want just smart phone gimbal this one is great. I know that they are selling whole bunch of shoe adaptors which are mounted where the quarter inch hole is at the bottom of the gimbal. They have them on Amazon. And thank you yes the channel grew. It is a lot of work.... Mainly those product reviews. Two more products and I’m going back to tutorials finally... I need to take a little break too 😁

Very good review. New company. Looks like a good gimbal. As a counter weight hack you might could try a bag clip or a metal clip (put some electrical tape on clip to protect phone). Not very pretty, but might work. Probably too heavy though, unless you could find very small clip.

I wish I had found you before ordering from amazon for my first Gimbal. I use an Android phone and film a colony of cats that I take care of and wanted to try and improve the vids with a gimbal. I have a smooth 4, and a mobile 3, both on your recommendation, so I think I will add this to my filming repertoire of equipment. The wide angle lense of the 12ProMax is on the exterior of the phone. I am wondering if it allows for NOT interfering with the view. The phone is 228gr. I don’t want to add counterweights. Love your Chanel

Thanks for your review, great as usual! I had smooth Q2 and now OM3 and still not fully pleased so this one seems interesting. Do you find the fit of the phone in the clamp (with a case in it) more secure than on the OM3? wider jaws maybe? It's thight? Would you say build quality is equivalent to Smooth Q2? Finally, since this one seems more interesting to use with the proprietary app, does this one has WB lock? Also allows to disable edge enhancement / sharpening like in Filmic pro maybe? Too bad for the 24/25 fps though.. maybe they can add the ability with firmware updates later.. Should be possible for the record button in other apps as well, that's pretty basic function.

It is pretty much a same like you had. So if you were not happy with those two I don’t think you’ll be happy with this one either.... All gimbals have their flaws. None of them is perfect. Unfortunately when it comes to androids there are hundreds of different phones so they would have to develop hundreds of different apps to make it work. But I do fully agree with the record button that’s basic that should be enabled

@@ZdenkaDarula Found your channel about 10 days ago and been slurping up your videos. I bought an iSteady X because it could accommodate the wide angle lens I want to use for shooting real estate, but found that, as you mention, a working Record button really is essential, otherwise you have to trim every shot in an editing app. Then I bought a DJI Osmo 3 because it also accommodates a wide angle lens and paid for FilmicPro for my Android phone. I used it yesterday to shoot an apartment but felt like the Follow mode in Pan-Follow was erratic and too slow. I came home afterward feeling like I have still haven't found my ideal gimbal and software. I will take a closer look at the Android version of the camera app for this gimbal and probably give it a try. Thanks to Amazon's liberal return policy! Thank you for your excellent reviews. I’ve used rubber bands with hardware plumbing washers as counterbalances on different gimbals. Not very pretty but a cheap effective solution.

Hi again Zdenka. As I mentioned before, I ordered the Aochuan Smart Xr through your link and I am excited to get it soon. I pose this question or comment to you and your viewers. After I ordered the gimbal, I decided to order some replacement batteries for it, and there in lies the problem. The company who makes and sells the Aochuan told me they do not sell replacement batteries as of yet because lithium batteries are dangerous goods in "international logistics". Hmmm, the idea of being able to replace the dead battery with a fresh one and keep shooting was a big selling point for me as well as lots of others I am sure. The rep also told me I could use any brand of battery, provided it is basically the same as the one that comes with the gimbal, but to make sure it has a protective plate, otherwise it will be too short to be used. The battery that comes with the gimbal is a product specific battery, it does mention that in the Aochuan item details. I have done some extensive research but have not come across any recommended replacement batteries for this gimbal. So my question is, would you or your viewers possibly know of a replacement battery that could be used safely with this gimbal? The battery that comes with it is a: "lithium ion 18650 3200mah" i do not know the dimensions of the battery, yet. Thank You in advance.

18650 is standard battery just like those AA or AAA batteries, it's often found in tactical flashlight or packed, it come with 2 kind, protected and unprotected, always use protected, can be ordered on Amazon just search 18650 battery.

@@jlai3861 thank you for your reply. I have already done what you are suggesting. The problem I am running into now, is finding a battery with the correct dimensions. My gimbal has not arrived yet, and as soon as it does i will get the measurements and compare to other batteries. In my research I have found that not all 18650 batteries have the same dimensions, mostly it's the length. I did manage to find a few 18650 3200 mah lithium batteries on amazon and have put them in my shopping cart, in case the gimbal battery matches up and then I can order them. The manufacturer was supposed to send me the dimensions but I have not heard back yet. Thanks again.

The counterweight will depend on the weight of the filter but basically, you can just get a lightning adapter or thumb drive and stick that on the other end then adjust the balance with rubber bands. OTOH maybe just bringing along extra batteries might be a better option since it won't look so janky and, given how much juice a single 18650 battery contains, it should be good enough to last you through the day.

I have been looking for a smaller smartphone gimbal that has the focus wheel on the side, like my Zhiyun Smooth 4. I have been spoiled with that wheel. So this doesn’t work with Filmic Pro? If not that is discouraging. I don’t want to use a gimbal that isn’t compatible with Filmic Pro. I feel Filmic Pro does better than other apps, and phone camera. I saw that you said it works with Filmic Pro, but does that mean the focus wheel does as well?

A wonderful Review, as always. Now, I am confused! I have a smooth 4, i bought it long before I knew what I would be doing...It is really big and bulky, too much to have it always with me. I am also VERY interest in the Pocket 2...It seems to have everything I need...it is VERY compact, and I can keep it in my pocket...BUT...I just bought a Note 20 Ultra phone, and it would seem a bit of a wasted to spend another 350 on the Pocket 2.... I will wait until your Roundup of the top 3 gimbals....the
