True story... someone told me when I was a film student that they'd met Alan Rickman and gave him a copy of a short film that I'd made. About a month later I got a handwritten letter in the mail from Mr. Rickman telling me that he enjoyed my film. I was blown away that he did that.

@@TheBigMclargehuge When it's from Alan Rickman? I would say so, yeah. But I understand where your coming from. People hold so many things over there own doings because it's what an actor likes, which I don't agree with. But some of us have actors we look up to, or like! (Alan Rickman in my case) So you get the point lmao.
@scromtrulescent4 жыл бұрын
@@TheBigMclargehuge apparently you must feel that, based on your willingness to write a comment, that your opinion is worth a shit. My point was not that Mr. Rickman's opinion was particularly relevant... but rather to highlight the gesture he made of writing words of encouragement to someone he'd never met. It was quite altruistic and telling of what kind of person he was. If you want to shit on that, then be my guest.

I like him as an actor a lot! And I "love" his voice, "actually" 🙂

Tom cruise: I do all my own stunts! Aren't I amazing?!?!?! Alan Rickman: um... Possibly, tom.

I brought my son to see him in the Gate Theatre in Dublin and was very lucky to meet him in the street afterwards. A gentleman.

At the Barbican Theatre gift shop in London, many years ago, i heard That Voice behind me, politely saying “ ‘Scuse me please” as he gently patted my shoulder. It was really crowded-“a frightful crush,” and he sauntered to the cashier. My friends were whispering What’s he buying ? I peered over and saw he was buying a handful of postcards-featuring himself! So i always thought he must be conceited ….only later I discovered that he was a genuine gentleman. Friends told me to never wash the jacket where he patted my shoulder.

Beautifully done, very moving. The kind of man to take one’s heart.
