The Frolic Room is our go to prior to any show at the Pantages. I've never thought of The Frolic Room as a dive bar, but an historic bar. But dive bars are my favorite, so I'm okay with it. I love the HMS Bounty. I've only been there a couple of times, but had a great time. And of course, the Tiki Ti is an absolutely favorite and hang out. I haven't been to Canters in years when I worked on the west side, but I really need to go back. Thank you for these wonderful videos on my favorite places.

In the 90s, I was working in downtown LA and a coworker said let’s go to a dive bar. I said sure. So after work late night down grand Ave at night somewhere I don’t know where we ended up at, but he went through a hotel through a tunnel the a hall , kitchen back doors said something to a concierge guy like he knew him for years went through another back door, and we were in the coolest dive bar with pool table and we listen to the Texas tornadoes and I never found out where that bar exactly was😀🥃

They had, pre-hipster, one of the BEST jukeboxes on Earth. I am sure that is long gone. What we used to call 'safe dive' bars. A good dive bar has folks passed out cold on the bar a jinky pool table. Get thee to NYC or Pittsburgh...

Dive bars sometimes have the best food. What works for businesses is to be unique, find the right formula for success and stick with it. Thanks Alison for keeping history alive.
