Very good video! Stavanger is one of Norway's oldest cities, it was founded in 1125!

I like the Silver Mountain or Solvberget Library, and the University Library very much, and enjoy browsing and borrowing books from there. I like attending concerts in Stavanger's Konserthus, and visiting the Elephant Theatre or Elefantteateret with my little granddaughter. I like walking around Breiavatnet, Mosvatnet, and Stora Stokkavatnet, and discovering the charming sculptures standing all around.

My great grandmother was from Stavanger. Great grandfather was from Oslo. They met in Chicago and 150 years later, here I am. Took the "Scenic Norway" tour in '07 and Stavanger was not included. Vowed to visit one day, but so far no luck..

Thanks for this nice video! One of our favorite activities was to walk to the pretty little beach at Vaulen. We lived in Stavanger for one happy year and our little child loved to play at that beach. Sola, as you mention in the video, is also a wonderful beach but we enjoyed our little walk to Vaulen so much we rarely went out to Sola beach.

There's so many good beaches in the region to choose from! Thanks for watching :)

The cathedral is amazing inside. When we were there in 1996 we got to hear the choir practicing. It was a transcendent moment.

Unfortunately, it rained the majority of the time I was there this past week, but I managed to go to the GeoPark, which I loved and went to some of the thrift shops. I loved the thrift shops because they were more like boutique shops rather than thrift shops.

Rain in western Norway is not unusual! Glad to hear you still enjoyed it though.

Boat trip to the Lsjefjords. I go to Stavanger once a year to see my friend and have only missed the trip once in 13 years. I also have to visit Hakken in the town for the best burgers ever
