I gave a Buck 110 to grandpa in-law for Xmas, because he criticized my pimped ZT0562. 😢 A man should never feel shamed for his choice of cutting tool. I’ve realized after many years of being criticized as a knife person, that the bast answer for the “why do you need that knife” question is, ‘because it brings me joy...now, back up or I’ll slice you’.

A supreme t-shirt for an example can cost more than any Benchmade depending on the availability of it. But in reality it's a piece of cloth and you can get the exact same material and build for $5 at Walmart. While some knives are more expensive because the engineering of the design and the expensive materials

As a humble and rusty peasant my most expensive knife is a vanilla PM2, which I only stare at. The knife that lives in my pocket an occasionally sharp saber grind Endura. As much as I admire the more exotic pocket jewelry out there my brain rebels at the cost of a knife over $150, and even that seems excessive. Also this list made Lynn cry, may he forgive you.

10 years ago, when pocket knives were only just getting into powder steels, CRV was using S30V and S35VN way before it was cool. Back then they were really worth the $400; even few high end knives had the fit and finish that CRV did. Now that everyone and there kid brother is making knives with titanium frame lock handles and S35VN blades for $150-200, the Sebenza just isn’t worth it.

Totally unsolicited Sharpmaker cleaning tip: I've had mine since 2007 and always had a tough time cleaning the ceramic stones and knew they weren't working well. 5 minutes using Bar Keepers Friend and green Scotch Brite pads has easily cleaned all the clogged metal off the stones. I forgot how good the sharpening system could be. Plus I cleaned and polished the sink afterwards which gave me some domestic points in the process. ~ Your channel Rocks \m/

C'mon .. the Buck 110 is cool. It's an era/classic with nice lines. If you were a confirmed new Corvette Nerd and a 57 Chevy pulled up beside you at a light.. You'd like it. There's so much to like, to embrace, So many weird quirky knives that aren't made anymore that make great self imposed Scavenger Hunt targets cause you can't buy them at retail anymore.. An Opinel is so much different than all the new stuff.. but still ...that charm. When the wind blows put your sail up.. Going off course is fun.

The original Endura started my knife hobby back in the early 90s. It was put together with pins and rivets, so could never be taken apart. The pocket clip was plastic and part of the handle. I still have it. It still has zero blade play, and still works just like when it was new. But it started me down the knife collecting road, and has therefore cost me a shit ton of money. Damn that knife.

Another hilarious, kick ass video! I was super impressed with how easy those $250 knives could cut through cardboard! I just threw all my $15 box cutters away. There out of my life! I feel so liberated. And the way that $450 knife chopped that log when bashed with that other little log! I mean come on! That just replaced a $9 saw and a $40 axe! I’m done with the budget bullshit. And to think I’ve been carrying around a $70 multitool for years when I could have been carrying a $200 single blade folder. Shame! I feel so old and gay like Uncle Randy. I think I’m going to change my username to Dusty Rainbow now.

My favorite is my spyderco police folder from the mid 90s. Mine is made with ATS 55....from my research they only made 1000 of these with this kind of steel. I think the bulk of them were made with ATS 35 steel. I lost it about 4 years ago then found it under about 3 inches of dirt in my back yard....must have dropped it while doing some kind of cutting chore. I washed it off and its still good as new. No rust what so ever. Great all around knife.

FFS he killed a few clans, but in fairness they did seem to be walking up to the guillotine on their own.

I like how you were honest about the CRK Sebenza. I have a knife collection, but don’t own one. I have handled a couple and was frankly unimpressed for the price they go for. Is it a nice blade? Sure. But as you said it wouldn’t “change my life” to own one.

I have the TTI and it weighs a ton. I tried the pouch but its just a problem when you are trying to conceal a firearm and spare magazines so Ill just stick to knives.

I don’t like the handle on the TTi because it’s squarer than the wave. Plus it’s not lighter either... the titanium is basically just window dressing on a very similar tool.

Nice selection. Surprised that the 940 didn't make it. You remember the steel will resident? I don't think you were that impressed, but ordered it after seeing it in your vid. My absolute favorite fancy pants dinner at the inlaws carry!

That’s a pretty decent knife. The looks didn’t quite do it for me though.

I grew up in Bradford PA, home of the Case knife. Suffice it to say, I never purchased one in my life because all I had to do was wait for my birthday, or Christmas and I would often get one as a gift. Bradford also happens to be the home of the world famous Zippo Mfg. By the way Zippo acquired Case many years ago. Both companies are still going strong. On a final note, I've never purchased a Zippo lighter either....much the same scenario as the knives. I've gotten many limited edition knives and lighters over the years. Zippo also produced a SS wallet that I gave to about 12 coworkers in Chicago about 5 years ago. They all loved them and still use them to this day. Unfortunately, Zippo no longer makes them.

Knives are just shiny objects that attracts our attention. Most of the knives you've shown weren't that shiny to me. But to many others they sparkled.

Your writing is absolutely brilliant, world changing. I hope, outside the knife channel, you are working pro or amateur somewhere as a playwright, screenwriter, copywriter, novelist, blogger, journalist, comedian, whatever. I will buy your magnum opus (if I'm not already).

Check out my Instagram... I plan on doing a review of the p4 free in a few weeks. It’s not better than the wave... it’s fun to fidget with but it’s tool set is missing the bit drivers and the handle isn’t as comfortable on the pliers
