The Best of Vancouver Island in 3 Days. Lower Myra Falls, Nanaimo, Campbell River. 4K + Commentary

The summer here is what better way to spend a nice weekend vacation over at Vancouver Island. If you've never been to Vancouver Island before, it's a great place to check out some scenic landscapes, numerous waterfalls, and of course Butchart Gardens in Victoria.
During this trip, we visited some places including Victoria in order to spend some time in the waterfront district, check out some great restaurants over at Ferris, and got a chance to check out their popular "Beaver Tails" dessert item.

👉👉 A nice little trail hike that can be completed in ~45 minutes or less. Beautiful waterfall with a scenic bridge that can be crossed overlooking the Englishman River Falls. Parking in the area is free.

👉👉 Another worth-while location to check out some more waterfalls. Just ~20 minutes away from Englishman River falls, the trail hike again takes about 30-45 minutes. Beautiful waterfalls particularly the Lower Qualicum falls with fantastic vantage points of the falls via the various overlooks.

👉👉 A quick stop over at Cameron Lake. Depending on how much time you have, it's a great place to stop by and have a quick picnic / lunch spot. Plenty of spots to park along the side of the road. Beautiful scenic lake just east of Qualicum

👉👉 One of the most gorgeous waterfalls that I've seen in the North Americas (Iceland and Norway are still #1 in waterfalls). The drive heading towards Myra falls is an enjoyable detour that can take about 1.5 hours to get to from Campbell River. Make sure to spend some time overlooking Campbell River / Buttle Lake. MAKE SURE TO SET YOUR GPS! At the time I visited, there were no signs that indicating where the turn-in is for Myra falls. Parking can be limited, but due to distant location of Myra Falls, parking should not be a problem.

👉👉 Another gorgeous waterfalls located just a few minutes from the town of Campbell River. Great place to go for a trail-run or bring out the two-wheeler and go for a bike ride. Following the Elk falls trail should take only 10-15 minutes to get to from the parking lot. Known for their suspension bridge that overlooks Elk falls. Can be a little intimidating if you're afraid of heights.

👉👉Our last stop before heading back to Washington, visiting the Richmond Night Market. Open only on Friday through Sunday starting at 7pm, make sure to check them out if you've never visited an Asian style night market before. The line to get into the night market can take upwards of 1 - 1.5 hours. However, skip the line by buying their "Zoom Pass" which helps to bypass the line, but you will need at least 6 people to make it worth it. CASH ONLY. CASH ONLY. CASH ONLY. CASH ONLY. None of the vendors nor the ticket window accepts credit card payments. MUST BRING CASH! They have an ATM just outside of the ticket window.

👉👉 One of the main attractions while visiting Victoria. Just 20-30 minutes drive from Victoria, this is a great place to check out some beautiful flowers and gardens. Expect to spend about 2 hours here to really enjoy some of the botanical gardens here.
