Thank you Daniel! This remote was designed from an esk8ter to esk8ters! I'm glad you liked it 😃! We are definitely going to take your feedback into consideration for our next developments 😉. We are super happy with the results we achieved until now, there was definitely a lot of dedication on our side to work every detail and we will keep pushing it to make sure we bring more and more premium quality to esk8ters! [Quick fact] The remote design is based on a very known pistol grip 😄 Have a great one Dkwan!

I really wish you guys had gone with a flexible enclosure, as well as a bigger battery. I have seen multiple instances of the stiff enclosure digging/wearing into the soft wooden deck of the BC2 over time creating a gap where water/debris can then enter, among other issues. I understand the deck isn't super flexy but especially for heavier riders this can be a major issue and I both surprised and disappointed that this pretty obvious issue wasn't addressed. Btw the new remote looks amazing and I hope you consider making a VESC version or some other way making it available to the DIY community. The new trucks look great too and it's awesome that people can buy them separately!

I think they were taking inspiration from Evolve back in the day, that’s why they were always doing videos comparing their boards to evolve boards. (Range/speed/hill climbing tests)
@akalia_07
@akalia_07 Жыл бұрын
No. They've ridden pretty much every single boards (including DIYs) that's available and designed their boards based on what these boards are missing as most of the companies uses pretty much same generic parts and remotes (not talking about specs). Most of the boards that came out pretty does same thing so in my opinion Onsra improved based on all that.

Exway and backfire are better than Evolve. Evolve quickly devolved into egos and assholes vs engineers and innovators. Onsra, if they can keep up production, I think will become the best premium "budget" board we can get.

Well, I have an Onsra Black Carve 3 Direct drive, but also tested the belt drive version and I can say, those 50km/h is easy reachable and also feels super stable and as if you were flying. Believe it or not but I speak the truth. It just depends on the weather, Set and Settings in general, which wheels you take, pulleys, and so on... The point is; if you want to, you can even go faster, so... But in general, nice review :)

Great video (as always!) totally agree - that's why I love my exway flex at 7.7g. Now I want exway to start using the onsra style remote. They only keep tweaking their old design instead.. I don't need it to go faster and it has enough range. Bring on the next era of super lightweight boards - any brand that can get the flex performance but at a lower weight will be sent all my monies :)

One thing I agree about is...that I love that remote!!! The other thing I dont agree is that many countries use eboards just for their fun ride. Commuting is almost impossible in traffics like south korea because the cars just drive crazy. So in countries like south korea, bigger boards and longer ranges are more preferred I guess haha. Still!! I love the video 😍

I'm an EUC guy but I think all pevs are interesting. It's funny how your sentiment of things getting too big fast and expensive are very similar to the euc world. I think there's an issue in North America where something becomes too fast to ride on the sidewalk but too slow to ride on streets. Since there's so many consumers here people want to go faster for that reason and companies follow suit since that's where the money is.

I own a Meepo Hurricane gear drive. and a Onsra 2,… I love them both. But the Onsra feels like a pair of sneakers you just prefer. What I love about mine is the long drags,…. Ride at top speed and it can hold that speed quite longer then the meepo. The meepo slows you down with the gear drive. But quick torque. It’s also not as heavy as the meepo. Also the miles aren’t close to 40 unless you just cruise all day. The Onsra feels the same in miles. I weigh 138 pounds so I’m the perfect example. Onsra to me is #1 so far. Had 1, have 2 and considering 3

honestly, as much as it sucks to see the battery specs holding it back, I'm glad onsra is focusing on the important things. such as their custom ESC (which I believe isn't actually made by Onsra, but rather an RC car manufacturer, teamOrion), and their remote and wheels. instead of the generic cheap plastic remotes, or the usual sunmate 175mm wheels, they went for much better designs and a HOTA tire setup which is much better. In my opinion, it is getting a little old to buy 2000-3000 usd skateboards, only to get cheap tires and a little plastic remote that's the exact same as a budget board. it's one of the little things that disappoint me about brands like AceDeck. such a premium board and then the thing you'll be holding/looking at most of the time, is a 5$ piece of plastic with a bad screen. I really hope more e-skate companies take an example from this and start designing better boards and remotes, instead of just slapping bigger batteries and motors on it and calling it a day

I agree with the top speed. It's getting dangerous for beginners and even seasoned riders. When it comes to high-performance boards, beginners should go through a rider competency course and learn to ride their chosen board before completing the purchase, same with upgrading to a higher performance board. For the price to performance ratio, its leagues ahead of evolve, which isn't hard to do.
@ONSRA

Speed is definitely not important especially with the At wheels you're supposed to ride on gravel. That's when you don't need much speed anymore.. Overall the speed can be easily improved with smaller pulleys or bigger wheels for example

Excellent review (as always). As an early adopter of ONSRA boards, I can only fully agree with your overall assessment. In the early days, Fabian was doing customer support directly, so I confirm ONSRA's full Swiss DNA when it comes to service! My Black Carve 2 is just perfect for me. My peak speed ever was 43km/h and I don't think anybody should need to go any faster on an e-board. In fact, anywhere around 30km/h is plenty enough, and I'm happy to swap speed for range. What I most enjoyed with the Carve 2 is it's absolute stability. At any speed it's rock solid. And that's probably the most important factor in my view. And Fabian is a nice guy. ;)

I accidentally got a set of 40t gears from cloudwheel and put them on my onsra. I lost major torque. So much so that I went and discovered onsra uses a 45t gear. Do not use the 40t on the onsra, at least on the black carve 2 as it becomes way underpowered. In you're case you have a higher torque setting on the 3 so it may not be as severe, but you will notice the loss of torque.

While it may not offer all of your favored features of the BC3, the ethos and strategy of Onsra comes through for all of the products, and the specific features and functions available through the belt drive Challenger with AT conversion kit match my imagined needs/wants better than any other production board that I can find out there. In my opinion 13.5kg (Onsra) is way too much for an E-Board. My old Evolve GT (same form factor) has 8kg and for my personal taste this is the limit. That's why I got an Exway X1 Max last year and I'm very happy with it. Thanks for your video though, Daniel. Always helpful and entertaining.

I put the new TKPs on my BC2 and I have to say, I'm very close to selling them. They aren't as stable as the old DKPs are when you upgrade the bushings, and they can't turn as sharp, so they are effectively a complete downgrade for me. I would recommend giving the BC2 another shot with a bushings upgrade from Riptide - it completely transformed the board for me

Not really. BC2 used generic hobbywing remote (like Lycaon, Ownboard, B-One, etc).

Dang... This board seems fantastic but the 3cm of clearance or 1 1/2 inch from the ground-level to the kingpin... I have a board with 4 inches of clearance/10 centimeter of clearance and that board still has several dings/dents in the truck. This seems like a deal breaker for me with how little clearance this board gets. It is almost certainly going to be damaged within 500 miles.

The clearance is definitely less when ridden with At wheels. The Kingpin ground clearance is the same on every board but at the same time also something we can improve in the future relatively easy.

Nah, I disagree with the manufacturers should limit the speeds of their boards. Electric Unicycles can have a top speed of 60mph (100km/h) with 45-50 the norm with midrange EUs. Of course those single bicycle sized wheels are much safer regarding most road hazards, but a sudden cut off in power is safer on an e-board-unless you are bombing a downhill into a busy intersection-but at least you can foot brake and not do a sudden face plant! I would like the ability through an app to adjust the board to your riding style as standard that you get with most high end boards.

Do NOT buy a Black Carve 3 like I did, do more research and buy literally anything else, this board is a flop, top speed is terrible, blatant lies on the specs page saying 31mph top speed when it's actually 25mph. Also I can't remove the king pin nut on mine because the actual king pin just spins with the bolt! It's only 2 weeks old! Not enough thought went into this board, they are using a tiny 14T motor pulley (most boards use 16T), meaning the extra tight radius means this thing hates belts and chews through them, I have gone through 4 belts in a month. Also from the factory the belts arrived ridiculously over tight, and the stock belts are junk quality, absolute garbage...I'm going to try sell it and get a proper esk8 :( The good things are the brakes are sweet, feel really progressive yet powerful, the remote and wheel feels much better than all the hobbywing clones, the 115mm wheels are great but the kegel design doesn't work with other products as the holes are smaller than standard...Trucks are stable, but as mentioned in video turning circle is bad. Just get an Acedeck, Meepo, Eski, Ownboard, Eovan, anything other than this.

Too slow, not enough range, Fabian has fallen very far behind the competition

The speed can be adjusted very easily and the range is really close to the Hadean's which is much more expensive.

@@ONSRA the Hadean is trash. Terrible example. 26mph top speed on pneumatics and terrible range also. And adjusting the pulleys to get terrible torque just to get a decent top speed isn't exactly a fix. The battery is laughably small. No matter how you slice it, this is a massively underperformed board by today's standards. The fit and finish is nice, the packaging is nice, the remote is nice...the board performance sucks.
