06 has 4 things I consider peak AF. Level design, narrative (especially tone, atmosphere and pacing), character models and overall art direction and finally cast utilization. And I believe cast utilization takes the cake here. 06 has, and not just in the games but the whole franchise in its entirety full stop, the BEST implementation of the extended cast to this very day. The dynamics are spot on, almost everyone serves a purpose either to themselves, to others or the plot at large, the characterization, everything clicked. 06 is the golden standard of how to use this cast.

Man, if only I could play Unleashed and Black Knight... That said, honestly, while have zero intention to even so much as touch Boom, Sonic and Amy's designs are pretty cool, and Tails's design... it just needs to be canon. It looks awesome! Also, thanks for implanting All Hail Shadow into my brain, I'm gonna be jamming to that all night long! Honestly thought you'd say Mephiles for '06, though... Just started playing Frontiers this week, too. Haven't beat Kronos Island yet, but I can't wait to get to my first Super Sonic boss battle! It's gonna be awesome! I can feel it. Just got my first Starfall today too, which was pretty cool. Pair that with improving at Cyberspace and the overworld too? Yeah, it feels great! Tropical Coast Zone 3 is the best thing in Lost World (both soundtrack and level). Parkour second (solely because it's so hard to learn).

My list of the better aspect of every game (trying not to repeat the same things twice): Sonic 1: It started it all Sonic CD: JP OST or Anime intro/outro Sonic 2: Speed Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Level Design Sonic Adventure: Controls Sonic Adventure 2: Gameplay Sonic Heroes: Art Direction Shadow 05: The Mechanics are fun (in that case, picking up guns and shooting, driving vehicles or filling the Chaos Control/Chaos Blast gauges) Sonic 06: Sonic and the Secret Rings: Cutscenes art style Sonic Unleashed: Story Sonic and the Black Knight: Characterization (especially Sonic's) Sonic Colors: Aesthetic Sonic Generations: Flow (every level, from BOTH Classic and Modern is satisfying to have a smooth perfect run) Sonic Lost World: Time Attack (this game has fun levels to speedrun which becomes fun when you master the level design and gameplay, and the times for the S Ranks are tight) Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric: (most) animations/expressions Sonic Mania: Original Stages Sonic Forces: Graphics Sonic Frontiers: Spectacle (especially on the titans) Sonic Superstars: Emerald Powers Shadow Generations: Replayability (I love the level design and how you can replay the levels after getting new Doom Powers like Doom Surf, Doom Wing, etc. finding new routers or using new strats like the Spear Gliding, especially since almost everything on the level design has standable collision)
