Gilbertsville has become very popular. Some of my friends have moved there. (Years ago, it was next door in Boyertown) It’s a good location, since it’s not that far from Philly and Allentown, etc

Thanks for watching Jen. I agree, it has been a very popular destination for out of state movers because of the size of the land that they can get with their home along with the lower cost of living with close proximity to NYC & Philly. Have you ever visited Gilbertsville?

Where the heck is gilbertsville? Lived in montco for 26 years and never heard of it. And I’m from Oreland. So I know “never heard of it” towns;)

It’s out past Greenlane close to Boyertown

You missed it! They just closed the only thing in Gilbertsville had to offer, The Mart.

I am in the medical field, and I am looking to move to Pennsylvania. I am looking for a condo or apartment in an area that has great transportation, but not directly in Philadelphia.

Also, I don't think having "all the chain restaurants" (Montgomeryville) is a good thing AT ALL. That's all you can find in much of the country, sadly. A lot of people are looking for good local, family-owned restaurants as you would find in Ambler, Ardmore & the Main Line, and not all these awful chains.

That's why I love Philly. There are almost no chain stores. Everything is mom and pop

Not to defend the high taxes, but Jenkintown has a very small tax base that supports its own school system, that other people have likened to a private school in terms of class size and quality. I've never met anyone associated with that HS that didn't rave about it, so if you have kids, it might be a reasonable price to pay.
