Update: I just realised the rear light clips were not aligned correctly - please move the clips in a little bit more to avoid the corner joints - the light should have been clipped onto the metal pole instead. Cheers

I just admired your taping of those clips. I've read many complaints in reviews about how flimsy they are. NO ONE thought to tape the to the backdrop. Until you. :)

I'm putting one of these together right now. I just realized that you can slide both clips onto the light bar from the side opposite of the wires. Then push them along until they are each about 1.5 inches from the opposite ends of the light bar, or 4 inches, whatever you prefer. Then the light bar easily fits within the frame on both sides, with about 3/16 clearance on both sides.

Ah yes I came across this too. I think just slide the diffuser down under your mats for top shooting

I have done a lot of research on various light boxes and although the Godox maybe not be the quickest and easiest to set up and take down I do believe it is the most versatile as far a lighting is concerned. Its on my list and will go for the LST80. Thank you

I have the Godox LSD40 and it's a great unit but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who didn't have the space to store it erected. The time taken to put it all together really puts me off using it.

Yes it definitely requires a little permanent storage space or frequent use. A fold away type may suit you better however the quality of materials and lighting is amazing compared to more basic versions.

I ran two lights across the top, one on each end and one light vertically on a side pole. You use less light and get fewer shadows with the light coming down directly off the diffuser. I don’t even need the third light very often.

Thanks for this video! I'm considering one of these but I have a question - Can one of the sides (left or right) be left open to allow another light unit or flash to add sidelighting to the object? I want to photograph cut flowers and would like to use off-camera flash to highlight, or another light from the side. Thanks again.

The sides both zip up all around so I would say yes you could leave one side open for sure

The lst80 comes with three extra tubes and i have no idea where they go? The manual that came with it is for the lsd60..

Oh the Godox box is awesome, The LEDs and control box is fantastic and very good quality. Just depends what you need if you want excellent lighting and customisation get the Godox.

I’am wondering about to get one of this, but the problem I meet is that version I want buy has just two led lights. I don’t know if that can be an issue. I mean lst 40

2 led strips are ok. But 3 led strips definitely even better.

Absolutely especially with the 3 banks of LED’s and the way you can lower them all the way down if you like. This is a fantastic all in one box that doesn’t need any external lighting however it doesn’t pack away very easy so you’ll need a permanent little spot for it. Well worth it !

To get the background clamps to hold it better instead of using tape get some self adhesive rubber strips and put a piece in the clamps jaws.

Or use a wide rubber band, or 3 narrow ones. Stretch the rubber bands around each of the jaws of the clamps. That should provide grip.

Hi thanks for the comment, I double checked and the 40, 60 & 80 should be the same, does it have tubular construction with corner connectors ? The only difference should be size and if you got double or triple lighting. The lighting can also be placed in different spots if required.

@@NatesToolbox triple LED yes, my version doesnt have any square grapples but more J-type and round ones, its really not a big deal and can be solved pretty easy, but I did have to think about it :)

I would try the sides. It’s very reflective inside so rear and front shadows shouldn’t be a issue then

i found the backdrop extra slippery and would slide off the alligator clip

Yeah this is the only downside. I think needs a small piece of rubber tape (maybe electrical) on the slippery sheet ! But the same tape is still doing great lol

Are you sure of the placement of the rear light? pretty sure it's supposed to be in the front.

check to see if yours has flaps to slide tuck the back drop in, the LST 60 has then you can use magnets to secure it.

While there is useful info in the video, the instructions ARE NOT for the 80. Just like the manufacturers instructions, they’re not correct for the 80.

Some of the instructions in this video are wrong. I broke one of the plastic pieces while trying the method. All of the led holder plastics will be mounted on metal rods. Do not force it to attach to the plastic parts (Tee Coupling) in the corner.
