I wish you guys went to GurGuri, it’s kinda like sorbet but wayyy better. They have two main flavors, pineapple and strawberry and sometimes make special flavors, but I swear not enough tourists know about it. You will never find anything like it anywhere else.

Our waiter said that there were some throughout the United States and we were super excited to see them on the East Coast - we will definitely stop next time we get to visit Boston :) Hopefully you love Leoda's as much as we did - it's soooo good!!

JFI, for the English speaking, Kahului is pronounced: caw (like the crow does) who louie. And the state fish is humuhumunukunukuapuaa... humu humu nuku nuku apu a a. (2nd to last "A" has only a half-breath between apu and it, rest have a full breath between them.) Break the long words down into the individual words, and it's a lot easier. Plus, with a few exceptions, all vowels are short. (For any German speakers, just speak it like you read it.) 😉

Originally from Hawaii here how is everyone sleeping on butter mochi? The only place I can ever find it is Foodland or Safeway I dream about it all the time because unfortunately I live in West Texas but I get to go to Maui just about every year due to an amazing sales job with free trips. So definitely get the butter mochi from the bakery in the grocery store!

You didn't try Mama's Fish House, or Monkeypod, or Kraken Coffee, of the poke at Foodland, or Star Noodle in Lahaina, or Macadangdang? How about a malasada or Hula Pie? You were there a month, right? Did you eat at any food trucks like Thai Me Up?

Hi! We wish we could have tried all of these! We had (and loved) a malasada from T Komoda Store & Bakery and we did eat at Thai Food by Suri in at the Kaanapali Lower Honoapiilani Food Truck Park and that was also great but we didn't have any video clips since we stopped at those quickly! Since we were on a bit of a budget while there, we did cook in our Airbnb quite a bit rather than eat out every night...so even though we were there a month we didn't get the chance to eat out at every food place on our list. We have heard rave reviews about many of the other place's you listed and look forward to hitting them on our next visit :)
