Not going to argue that someone should be bumped from your list, but we can't let Hank Greenberg go without mentioning. 2x MVP, 2x World Series champion, 3 HR and 3 RBI titles, third highest RBI season in MLB history (184 in 1937), a hero to Jewish kids everywhere, and the first MLB player to sign up for the draft. Served 47 months in WWII, the longest of any MLB player.

Hank definitely deserves to be on the list. Thank you for the comment!

Each of these #5's were absolute superstars. And yes, Hank greenberg should've definitely been included without knocking anyone off this list. Major mistake, Mr. Baseball universe.

@@BBUYTTV 3: Mel Ott, Jimmie Foxx, Alan Trammell, Harmon Killebrew, Earl Averill, Harold Baines (who barely qualifies). Also A-Rod, who put up HOF numbers and some people argue that Dale Murphy should be. Frankie Frisch and Mickey Cochrane also wore 3 at the end of their careers after spending most of their time without a number. 7: Pudge Rodriguez, Al Simmons, Craig Biggio, Joe Mauer, Joe Medwick. For my money, Kenny Lofton should be. But, of course, in fairness, we also can add a couple more guys to your case for #5. Besides Greenberg, we also have Jeff Bagwell, Lou Boudreau, Arky Vaughan, future HOFer Freddie Freeman, and very underrated non HOFer John Olerud. Another number I would make a strong case for is #8. Joe Morgan, Carl Yastrzemski, Yogi Berra, Bill Dickey, Cal Ripken, Gary Carter, Willie Stargell. Albert Belle will never be in the HOF but in his prime, he was a beast.
