The main thing all these mons have is that they're all pretty close to broken or just broken in some way. They also all cheat the rules. Ursaluna either ignores Burn halving physical damage or immunities and accuracy changes. Urshifu breaks every defensive counterplay. Calyrex has two Abilities and signature moves that are far stronger than they should be. Landorus has either Intimidate or free Life Orb damage. Ogerpon can switch Abilities on demand.

I get why you want to say this but I think including base Ursaluma and Landorus is just flat complaining abilities exist at all. Like Guts, Sheer Force, and Intimidate are just normal ass abilities. You can get two of those on regional birds. Hell Squawkabilly gets all three and it sucks.

@@jacobbrown9894 That's kind of true. But, two of those Abilities do something that changes the way the game works. Guts changes how Burns work. Sheer Force's interaction with Life Orb is just weird. Sheer Force explicitly doesn't remove recoil for moves, but it does for Life Orb. It feels closer to an exploit that GameFreak has canonized. Intimidate is just a personal thing. I really don't think it should activate multiple times per battle when Supersweet Syrup doesn't and when Dauntless Shield/Intrepid Sword were nerfed to not do so. Still, yeah, there's a pretty clear difference in the amount of gameplay changes the newer forms cause compared to the older ones.

Calyrex Shadow Rider is the reverse in singles due to how extremely strong, and fast Shadow Rider is, and with bar none, the best signature move of any pokemon, you get an absolute broken centralizing threat in singles, and that's why in gen 9, Calyrex-SR is banned to AG.

Commenting for the algorithm. 😎 Legitimately didn't know the Ogerpon masks also gave a passive attack buff. What makes Ice Rider generally better than Shadow Rider? My guess would be bulk but I thought its typing would be a big hinderance. I guess Trick Room carries it?

The bulk helps it a lot, in trick room it's a menace, but it's signature move doesn't have any types immune to it, while caly shadow has to worry about normal types. The typing also works in ice's favor compared to shadow since the latter has 4x weaknesses to ghost and dark and the former only was weaknesses to fire, dark, steel, rock, and ghost. Of course, there are more ways to slow down physical attackers than special ones, but I'd say that ice is still better in a vacuum

As Mudkip was saying, caly Ice only having 2x weaknessess and great bulk means its longevity is still quite good, while caly shadow is frailer and has the two 4x weaknesses. Especially in reg G, where you only got one restricted, you had to invest a lot of your team into protecting and enable caly shadow bc of its fragility, but caly Ice you can largely just let it do its thing while other mons also apply pressure.
