I just wish we got 2 seperate sets of movelslots for setup/status/utility moves & combat moves. There are so many times I come up with a build that's 5 or 6 moves that includes 2-3 utility and 2-3 combat moves. And removing even a single move makes the build fall flat. And sure, those build might be absurdly gimmicky and probably aren't geat. But it'd be nice if I could at least use it for fun when playing against friends, or even the AI.

Can confirm that Miridon didn't change anything, if anything they are more irrelevant now because of the power creep.

My pokemon knowledge isn't amazing, but I think it might be a mistake to call purifying salt an outright superior version of other abilities that grant immunity to certain status conditions. If I'm running a rest/sleep talk set on a pokemon, it would be more beneficial for me to have magma armor, water veil, immunity, etc, rather than purifying salts. I'm not going to say that that's a likely or competitively viable scenario, but maybe for casual play. It's enough to say that purifying salt isn't strictly better in every possible case.

One Pokémon I’ve been having a hard time picking moves for lately is my Forretress in Ultra Moon. The only reason I gave it an attacking move *at all* was because stealth rocks is an egg move for it, and a slow volt switch can come in handy for switching Malamar into boosted opponents so he can have the time he needs to do his thing before he goes down.

let’s just take a moment to appreciate the cope of ‘iron fist isn’t worse than tough claws because of the punching glove’ as if an item slot for the sake of 10% damage is a good trade off for a total of 1.02x damage over just using an ability slot

Grimsnarl basically has 2 move slots because the main reason you run use him is to set up both screens.

We should have new categories. Light moves: flash cannon, aurora beam, light that burns the sky, signal meam, tail glow, flash, light screen, etc. Interacts with illuminate. Kicking: Blaze kick, jump kick, double kick, triple axel, trop kick, aqua step, axe kick, etc Piercing moves: horn and stings, drilling moves. Fell stinger, megahorn, twineedle, poison sting, drill run, etc Cosmic moves: space-time, extraterrestrial, other dimension. Cosmic power, moonblast, moonlight, moongeit beam, sunsteel strike, hyperspace fury, draco meteor, meteor mash, meteor beam, spacial rend, roar of time, gravity, etc. But also, includes the categories as a new attribute to pokemon. Every could receive until 2 of them. And if the move has the same category, adds 20% damage (that caps at 50% if stacking with the ability). Every slasher pokemon would get at least 20% more damage from these moves (even kabutops, parasect, ceruledge) Blaziken, tsareena, hitmonlee, quaquaval, pheromosa, mega lopunny gets 20% from kicking. All of that not spending their abilities.
@marverickbinКүн бұрын
Also, pokemon with multiple "beings", heads, should be on the multiple category. 20% more damage from multihit or multitarget moves. Dodrio, magneton, exegutor, Hydreigon, maushould, Kangaskan, girafarig, Vanilluxe,
@marverickbinКүн бұрын
Finally, I think this category should also include types, so would act like a third type. 20% more damage of the type. Charizard Gyarados dragon, drapion kabutops flygon Gligar bug, lugia dragonair dragalge eelektros water, etc
@sunnygames4003Күн бұрын
Ogerpon is actually 80-154-84-76-96-110 (total 600) due to the 20% boost for all moves. (I did also increase the special attack for this calculation though it is useless, otherwise it still has 584 bst with the attack boost)

I'm surprised that Normal Bug, Fire Fairy, Fairy Ground, Bug Dragon, and Ghost Rock haven't been used yet, especially Bug Dragon and Normal Bug. An early-game Bug pokemon could be Bug Normal and a late-game Bug pokemon could be a Bug Dragon dragonfly.

I will never forgive the design of iron jugulis. One of hydriegon's prototype designs was that it became a tank, and when I heard about its paradox form in the leaks I thought for sure we were getting a badass hyrda tank. Unfortunately, all the final design amounts to is just LED hydriegon, which even then is a poor execution of a robot dragon. It's a flying type, why not give it jet thrusters or turn its tendrils into helicopter blades? As someone who likes dinosaurs I can tell a lot of the past paradox forms aren't that deep, just having "prehistoric" traits slapped onto them instead of being based off specific extinct animals (with a few exceptions, like the beasts). Even with those designs being only superficially ancient it's still a bit jarring how little effort a lot of the future paradox forms have by comparison. Iron thorn and (whatever paradox cobalion is called) are literally just the original designs but a robot. They really should've changed the design's silhouettes so that they came off as distinct ideas. Iron hands, iron moth and iron valiant do look cool though. The first two have neat detached body parts, and the latter is a fusion of two different pokemon! More of that would've been cool.

Important distinction for Fur Coat: Fur Coat doesn't "Halve damage from physical moves", it doubles the defense stat, which does do that, but also has other benefits, like halving damage from moves like Psyshock and Psystrike which hit physical defense and not special defense, and doubling the damage of Body Press essentially as if they had Huge Power but just for body press.

One move that i just find bad is order up.. for starters you need 2 spesific mons in a double battle otherwise the move fails.. it also does not help that dondozo also has +2 in all stats (excluding evasion and hit rate) so order up feels underwelming.. also doesnt help that dondozo doesnt get a way to protect its stats

Toxic Boost I wouldn't say is strictly worse than Guts. Both you tend to self-trigger with Toxic Orb and Flame Orb respectively, so the specificity of the triggering is pointless besides maybe a real nich situation. Like you'd have to have the Orb Knocked Off, somehow get the status healed, and then get hit with Paralysis or something for it to matter. So while it's technically "worse" it has no meaningful difference for practical purposes
@roycks122 күн бұрын
At some point I thought all the types had at least one 90 BP attack that was widely distributed (Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Moonblast, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball). I was surprised to find out that this wasn't the case (I'm not counting Surf)
@bigfudge20312 күн бұрын
I feel like Duraludon has more potential than the rest on here since Archaludon doesn't have much better stats anyway. It is basically forced to use the assault vest anyway because of the low SpD which locks it out of status moves, Archaludon will have lower defence until stamina activates (which may already be too late) and Stalwart is already an excellent ability in doubles battles.
@dreadfury24853 күн бұрын
Another important distinction between Air Lock vs. Delta Stream: Air Lock still bypasses the Primals’ weather effects no matter when the Primals switch in, so Rayquaza can still hit Primal Groudon with Surf or Waterfall even if it switches in and activates Desolate Land, but Mega Rayquaza cannot because Desolate Land will still be active and will just replace Delta Stream’s effect.

also, if the abilities were theoretically put on any mon (like in almost any ability or hackmons for example), teraform zero and embody aspect would only work on stellar terapagos and the respective terastalized ogerpon forme respectively, if given to any other mon, they would simply not work.
