The absolute best example I can think of is how Mega Salamence remains arguably the best (competes with Mega Gengar) or the second best Mega in Ubers in absence of Mega Rayquaza, otherwise, Mega Slowbro and Kangaskhan would probably see more usage than Mega Salamence when Mega Rayquaza is around and Mega Gengar would immediately swallow the second spot whole.

not sure about gen 9 but in gen 8 grimmsnarl was used a decent bit in OU. I think in this video you underestimate how good screens are in singles. Light clay was banned in UU down because of how toxic screen set up was. I also want to say that Queenly Majesty variant abilities can be useful in singles, but all of the pokemon that have that ability can easily be outsped even without priority, and because there isn't a fast partner on the field, there's no one to take advantage of it. If we saw a QM variant on an actually fast pokemon I think it'd be pretty good. ITs also good to note that half the mons you listed have prankster, and that's not a coincidence. Prankster is honestly a toxic abiltiy on some pokemon and it shows how good it is that in makes Whimiscott and murkrow viable when they have absolutely awful stats.

one thing you didnt mention for the term shiny is that gamefreak actually did have their own version of it before adopting the fan term. "shining" was what they tried, you can see it on some cards. theres a gold magikarp and a black charizard with the name 'shining'

15:03 - This is incorrect. This has been a strategy for Shiny hunting since Gen IV, at least. I've used Static and Magnet Pull many times in Platinum to great effect whilst Shiny hunting. I've been using Static to help chain Shinx by tradition almost every New Year for around the last decade or so, at least.

I actually don't think I would forget Tangela simply because of the weakest move constrict being sonething its known for. I like heart scales (mostly for move remembering and the fact that I legitimately used him over one hundred times) and heart shaped Pokemon being some of my favorite being the man of love that I am. I also feel that it is memorable to me by being an inferior Alomamola and being the same, at least to me, from a design perspective, that specifically includes but is not limited to appearance. I don't know which I would put in their place necessarily, but to me these are not particularly forgettable Pokemon.
