@@Gazing-09 that one is purely cosmetic tho. There were other major issues with seasons, though. Ice-type Pokémon were notoriously difficult to obtain if it happened to be Summer.

@@Gazing-09 Well, I mean, seasons wouldn't have much visible differences in the other regions we visited after the US region. Maybe France and UK (Gen 6 and Gen 9), but Hawaii and Spain? They only snow in certain areas, and are only cold on others. In fact, for another example imagine a South American region which seasons and a winter that actually snows. I WISH.

The only good remakes of the series. Still can't believe how badly they butchered ORAS and BDSP. It took them 5 generations of games to finally make a good game after gen 4, and it ended up being an open world gen 4 game. This franchise is doomed and officially handed over to the iPad babies.

I could never forget such beautiful feature! HGSS is so underrated and man... For sure, it's best game ever made. Pokémon follows you out of Pokéball, you can interact with you Pokémon, you can add visual effects to your Pokéballs, you can take photos with you and your party, you can take photos of solo Pokémon and edit adding cure effects and details like ribbons, you can cosplay Team Rocket, you can daily create Pokéballs by berries, you can realocate positions of Safari Zone, you can get the Legendary of the opposite game, you get a free shiny, and explore 2 freaking regions in a single game, no other region has such feature!

The 3D connected environments sorta make these obsolete, which makes sense, but the art was nice and the subtle differences of there the Pokemon were and wich ones were featured was great while it lasted.

Ye, maybe not the dragon cave, or any of the salt water, but the water by the ghost gym? The water in ruins of alph? The grass nearby? the water by Elm's house? the water by sprout tower?? part of it is trying to keep the amount of pokemon per route limited, but water by day, grass by night would have been cool at low percent.

God, those were good games. I like Scarlet and Violet, but some of the charm of the games hasn't translated to the newer ones Also, I hate this thing were you have all these side character friends in the game you're supposed to build an emotional connection with, as you know that you'll never see them again in future games. Like Carmine is cool, but she'll probably never appear again until 20 years from now in a remake

We didn’t forget, I sure didn’t. The companies making the games did. Pokemon as an rpg was mechanically never all that great. What made it great was the charm. All the little touches. Its not fun because the combat is engaging, its fun because it feels good and you love your little friends. (That being said as a competitive game it has become surprisingly solid, but that’s neither here nor there. Also when are they going to release a team builder for competitive only? Wtf, I want to play multi without wasting my life or hack. Yes I know what showdown is)

To be fair, I feel like these work better in a 2D OR 2D.5 game with 2d art style (if they'll ever make another one, in which case will probably be for a spinoff in the same level as Legends Arceus, with its own Pokemon), but 3D open-world? Nah. Let's just hope they'll ever make another 2d game so they'll bring those back.

Especially the hand drawn photo of the place like in here, which it cuts to the game afterwards, I feel like it would be way more on place in a 2d game. I mean, people are already complaining about your sandwich in SV looking like a rotating JPEG, so their reaction to this wouldn't be any different.

@@MrRuePine that's a hella different thing, though? That's how the game actually looks, compared to a visual art image of the time of day of the area you're in. If anything people would complain about the amount of loading zones, which can be overcome by having the image appear somewhere else.

Counterpoint: The fully 3D New Snap is pretty photogenic and features Pokemon doing different things at different times of day. Wouldn't be too hard to make a decent still image in 3D.
