ik the sponsorship was most likely just for the money but I just want to inform you that they, and the guy who owns the company behind it, have been called out for paedophilia (sexualised child characters and even an update in a game called something along the lines of 'loli heaven', as well as purposefully creating younger looks for older characters), called out for colourism in numerous games (in one, they had a black female character who was extremely masculine and aggressive, and her daughter was a character who bleached her skin to appear lighter, while in Genshin Impact they have two nations based off of numerous darker skinned countries, while their other countries aren't ordinarily a mix of cultures, and the characters from those two nations are extremely pale - plus, they based numerous characters off of stereotypes, such as Mualani, a tour guide character who's based off of Hawaii culture, who's both extremely pale and actively wants people to come to her nation, while Hawaii itself has had its entire economic system based around tourism due to colonisation) and was also called out for hiring people who were called out for literal crimes as voice actors for their games.

Nuckelavee mention!!!! Grimhest is amazing, and the Nuckelavee is a creature from Scottish mythology, mostly in the north near Orkney and Shetland. It’s a creature that lives in salt water (so either the ocean itself or the many sea lochs in the area), and as mentioned it emerges to destroy crops and spread pestilence. The Nuckelavee is actually harmed by fresh water, so you’re always safe from it when it rains. I love spooky Pokémon, and spooky folktales, so to hear mention of one I’m actually familiar with immediately sparked my interest, and it was incorporated into such a sick design!

Nebulong makes me think of the Canadian dragon Gaasyendietha. It's a serpentine "meteor dragon" which lives at the bottom of Lake Ontario. It flies on a trail of fire and can be mistaken for a meteor. It killed a hero while it was transformed into an old man, so there may be a third evo in there somewhere (maybe a dark type that needs special rules to evolve).

One of the things I love about the artist community is if you give multiple artists a vague prompt like say design an evolution for a fakemon it’s amazing how everyone comes up with different design ideas for the same thing and even if an artist does an art challenge and has their fans participate and share their ideas for the same prompt everyone has their own ideas for a similar prompt it just proves given the right creative hands and open mindset everyone has an artist inside of them and their artwork shows their individuality

I have a idea, How about a game of telephone Pokémon? You give them your first design. And then they have to improve upon that design. And then they give that design to another artist and they have to prove on that design. This is to see how differently it can evolve and how crazy It can go from the first design to the third. Here’s a fun video idea: Each person makes a prevo and picks an evolution method, then they’re shuffled randomly and everyone has to evolve the prevo they are assigned using that evolution method. Bonus points if those methods are more interesting than level-up or friendship!

These are all so amazing, I'm floored! I want every evolution for both to be regional forms ahhhh. And yes, we're all clearly pining for an okapi! I saw Okapipaste with the awesome artist gym leader (forgive me, I forgot the character's name and probably spelling the pokemon wrong), but I still haven't stumbled across the first okapi design yet. Also, I love how Gabe did animations for his! Everyone did so good, I love them all, and this is such a great idea, I love these videos. It just shows how people can always take the evolutions in different directions; it's like a mystery box reveal almost lol. The anticipation is exciting.😊

I think what was really interesting about Skynix’s interpretation, alongside eastern inspiration in the name was that in Journey To The West, there Is a dragon character who aids the protagonists after being turned into a horse, and the horse being a weaker form for it which I think translates into the evolution in a really cool way

The Four artists series hell yeah :] Edit: A future artist related concept maybe could be asking all the artists to come with something either an animal, myth, some scientific theory, or event in history that you don’t know about and make it into a pokemon. They could ask you while working on the project if the concept they are thinking of is something you didn’t know prior, or they just try their hardest to find a concept you don’t know about and nobody knows if you do or not until they reveal the concept. If you do the former they could show some concepts that they were planning to use that Ron already knows about and maybe get some art of some of their ideas that couldn’t make the cut. Could be interesting since you know so much about animals, theory’s and myths so it could be made to a little game of “Can you come with something that Ron doesn’t know”

But think of a gartic phone-type thing where one has to evolve the pokemon and one has to deevolve it until the pokemon is unrecognizable. Add an additional rule where evolutions have to be dual types and the deevolutions are single types, and you could make a cool video

Absolutely stellar concepts by everyone!! This video was such a treat to wake up to! I really loved Erockson's design, even though it wasn't the primary focus as a pre-evo instead of one of the artists' evolutions. I am a huge rock-type fan and I feel like Erockson captured that fascination perfectly! I have only vaguely heard of sailing stones before so the concept was extremely inspiring/engaging, and it's the kind of pokemon I would absolutely put on my team. I think, of the evolutions designed, Ron's was probably my favorite! The others absolutely were not bad at all, and I would be just as happy with Skynix's as my second pick, but I just love the overwhelming wholesome and enthusiastic energy of Ron's version of the evolution line. When my favorite rock-types are mons like Minior (minior mention in the video!! so cool) Carbink, Stonjourner, and Garganacl, I think it becomes obvious why Erockson and Rexplore are the ones that made me get super hyped over the designs. I know you said you didn't care what our favorites were but I felt like the comparison helped prove my point haha For Runicorn, this one was so interesting! I didn't have a super strong bias towards any particular evolution, honestly! I think if I was playing a real game and these were in it, Purapi would be the one I would expect when putting it on my team? I'm also a giant fan of Detox as an ability, although it might be a good balancing idea to make it work like Water Compaction instead of one of the absorption abilities lest we keep making fairy types way too powerful 😂 (Water Compaction: Raises Sandygast's/Palossand's defense sharply when hit by a water type move but does not grant immunity to the type) I honestly love all of the evolutions for Runicorn though! I would be more than happy to hypothetically use any of these, and I especially loved the rhinoceros twist! I hadn't seen it coming, although I probably could have if I payed better attention, haha. Grimhest was extremely engaging to learn about as the explanation went on, Nebulong fulfilled my desire for an epic mythical creature (I was also thinking Kirin or even Kelpie when you showed Runicorn so that's probably where I would have gone), and Runoceros is just so charming and likeable. Well I've been rambling long enough! Thank you for another great vid Ron! And thank you to Skynix, Froopy and Phee for their amazing contributions!

As an idea for another type of fakemon design game you could play: when I was younger my siblings and I would play what we called evolution where we came up with an environment and a list of other animals that lived there and then all seperately designed a new animal that could live in that place and interact with the other animals. I think it could be fun to come up with a pokemon location and a list of other pokemon and create a fakemon that is designed to fit in that particular ecological niche. Anyway super fun video, i love how different everyones designs are

These videos are fun to see. It could be fun to see some artists design Pokemon based on creatures from mythology and lore that don't seem to have been tapped into yet or were seemingly missed in the existing generations; for example, the Ramidreju from Spanish lore doesn't seem to have a Pokemon in Paldea that used it as an inspiration; another one that hasn't been tapped into yet is the Aralez from Armenian mythology. Look them up, you might just be surprised by what you find.

You can do one of these. But like in thwack hammer dex entry it talks about a more powerful Pokémon that used it you do that like. A rogue mec Pokemon and the dex is like “it was sated in legend this Pokémon once ripped worlds apart, but arcues improved and split the original titan, this Pokémon’s power is matched only by gods” then they ethir draw the parts or full form. Or for thwack hammer Pokemon it’s weilder

I love how even though Thwack-hammer might have not have had this specific inspiration in mind but all I could think about was some sort of Jotunn pokemon carrying it as that also fits with the Norse theming the initial idea was going for

15:25 imma make my own lore for this because I love this design! Grimhest has 2 different consciousnesses one which is the rider or the mane and the actual horse which is a mudsdale regional evolution so 2 different pokemon the mane is grimhest the horse is mudsdale grimhest is a virus slipping into a mudsdales mind and slowly corrupting it allowing grimhest to take over the mudsdale using the hair and other materials to form its arms and body it will use its long arms to grab material to assimilate into its body all of this happening while the mudsdale is unconscious and grimhest using its control over the mudsdales mind to enter it into a dream world once a mudsdale is caught by a grimhest there is no way to break the connection without fainting the mudsdale the faint causing in both Pokémon’s termination permanently Edit more lore :D grimhest will also use its arms to grab other Pokemon and humans in danger and remove them from that situation after the grimhest and mudsdale form a bond the middle will exit the dream world helping the grimhest save more Pokemon if you see these two raging it is recommend to stay away as grimhest is a helper but it is not completely safe if the grimhest is disconnected from the mudsdale the mudsdale will enter into a state of panic until its connection with the grimhest is reconnected while grimhest is disconnected it will use its arms to drag itself on some rare examples grimhest have been seen to evolve growing a snack like body using its arm to still drag itself but at the same time using its more snake body to drag others behind it still helping others even in its more dire circumstances

froopys was my fav-cuz-its,. spooky witch are kind of Pokémon and I love the placing of its eyes and I LOVE they get along and help 👻spoooooooky👻 Pokémon:D so yeah froopy U did awesome so did everyone else!

all of these are genuinely amazing but Froopy's Ruinik has such a unique body type i love it (i guess there a few other really unique body shapes in the video too but a body that's literally just spindly vines isn't something i would even think of for a "body" but it works so well)
