Yum...I love potato soup 🍲 😋. My mother made a potato soup for our family when I was a child. It was so good and comforting, especially in the fall (for me anytime was good). I will make this soup, but it will be for one. My hubby passed away in his sleep about a month ago. My faith promises that I will be with him again when the good Lord calls me home. By the way, I was so happy for you and Whitney taking that trip to Hawaii. You both looked like you were having a great time, and enjoying great food. Thanks for sharing. Grateful 🙏 ❤

Careful Zach, you are going to spoil us with two great videos in one week. Loaded baked potato soup is a favorite in our household. My son and husband both like it and they aren't big soup eaters. When my son was in high school he took some to some of his theater friends and they all loved it. As for how you turn bacon, I had no idea there was a right way to turn bacon, I've always used a fork. Finally, I have several Google Docs where I save recipes that I want to try. I have an entire page that I have dedicated just to Bates Kitchen. They are all yours except one and that is one of Erin's. I am slowly trying to cook more again, as my health allows and I hope one day to be able to start making some more of your recipes. So far the coleslaw is the only one I made but I will be making more. Thank you Zach for sharing your talent and love of cooking with us. Looking forward to seeing more.

I have to watch this. Everyone, and I mean everyone loves my potato soup. It was my Grandma's recipe. People beg me to make it all the time. I'll share it in my reply to this msg after I see your video.
@cyndiopfar69323 ай бұрын
Dice potatoes small. Then dice up a small onion in small pieces and cut one to two stalks of celery. The celery needs to be cut thin. Then add butter in your pot and cook the onions and celery until they are translucent. At this point, the smell is heaven. Then add chicken stock and the potatoes. Let them boil. Once done, add one can of evaporated milk. Then add fresh pepper and salt. So simple and so yummy. Everyone will ask you for the recipe. People will request me making it for their birthdays or just because. My mom omits the can of evaporated milk. She claims she likes it better. Everyone else prefers it like I do, which just so happens to be how my grandma taught me. The onion and celery step is the most important part of this recipe. Also important to cut the potatoes in small cubes, because no one enjoys biting into a big chunk of potatoe, that has no flavor. Same with stew or any other soups. I like to keep my pieces small, so you enjoy the flavor in every bite. So yummy!

I always bake my potatoes in an instant pot and use the extras for this soup. Save me from cooking the potatoes in the cream mixture. I always seem to walk away and either burn it or curdle it. Thanks for sharing this recipe. It looks and sounds delish! I agree a whisk is essential for making a roux. What is up with bacon prices these days? They seem to fluctuate a lot. Zach, what Salt & Pepper grinder do you use? It would be a good addition for anyone who cooks. Love watching your videos. I’m in middle Tennessee 👍

I have a wooden set I bought at target, an electric set I bought at Walmart, but my absolute favorite hands down is my mannkitchen pepper grinder (affiliate link on my instagram)

OK, just looked up the Mannkitchen Pepper Mill on A…..WOW, it sells for $199.99! I sure hope you didn’t have to pay for it…..that’s crazy🤨

It’s pricy, but the quality is unparalleled compared to the others I’ve used. I think my electric set was around 20-30 at Walmart though and my wooden set was around 30-40 at target and either would get the job done!
