What is best monitor under 1300-1400 USD around 32 inches screen size? Usage: , Ai modelling and machine learning models, mostly Entertainment and casual gaming in free time( I game rarely due to work) .... I have a bunch of monitors from the DualUp to the 49 ultrawide and I only use them for productivity. I completely agree that for productivity, I really don’t need 49. It’s exhausting to use. People cannot understand why I would need 34, 40 and even a fancy vertical when I already have the 49 and I think they don’t really understand how much effort it is to scan your eyes from left to right (and the cursor) all day. I get pretty bad eye fatigue from that. It’s really best reserved for immersive gaming in my opinion. Ours is now sitting in my husband’s gaming room. I got the DualUp a couple weeks ago. I like it, going back to an ultrawide now looks extremely squished but I wish they had given it more width. Two 21.5 stacked is just too narrow in my opinion, I wish they had gone up to at least 24, if not 27, ideally 29. It’s too wide for a secondary monitor and too narrow as a primary. I don’t know, I have a weird relationship with it. Oh, and get a monitor bar light. I know some people call it a fab but it has honestly changed my life. My eyes get a lot less tired with it. I used to rely on monitor brightness and it’s such a hit or miss.

5120x2160 are hard to come by and are expensive more than double of the 3440 x 1440 prices. I use a 3440 x 1440 and find it perfectly fine for office work even when font size is tiny.

Terrific video! I'm in the middle of trying to decide which 32" monitor to get to go with a new M2 Mac Mini and it's not easy. Your recommendation for best 16:9 is the LG UN880 (which is on my list of possibilities) but I can't find any specifications on its sRGB rating (and that factored into your criteria for choosing a monitor). Is it still a good buy, even in 2023?

Great video. Every time I think refresh rate doesn't bother me, I second guess myself after watching a video like this lol. Would you consider a 32" QHD if you could get 75Hz, or stick with a 32" 4K and only 60 Hz. I will not be gaming, this will be for office use but I do graphic design as well and work in Adobe cloud. I have been a dual-monitor guy for years, then I switched to a AOC 32" Curved 1-2 years ago. Earlier this year, I opted for the Samsung M7 32" Flat Monitor/TV. Best. Decision. Ever. I hardly, if ever, miss the dual setup. Thanks for another top-notch video!

@@PantojaManuel Depends on what you want to use it for and personal preference. Curved is great especially for gamers, flat is great for everyone else. Especially, if you want to have a more professional looking setup flat is the way to go.

@@rogedacosta Great question. Hard one to answer. Hm, well I don't have a ton of space to work with... so the dual-monitor setup cost me a lot of valuable real estate. Also, I haven't noticed any changes in my ability to work with windows side-by-side. Now, if your profession, hobby, or current job requires more than four windows open at a time or one platform that demands an entire screen, then I'd say don't do it. Judging from your response, I'm assuming that's not the case. Ergo, a single ultra-wide monitor will do it. The Samsung M7 (4K UHD) I have is great as I can switch between my MacBook Pro on USB-C, PS4 Pro on HDMI, and its Smart TV app functionality with ease. At the end of the day, choose what works best for you. I will say I do not miss the divide between monitors. If I ever choose to go dual again, it will either be with another M7 or just going all out for a standalone 49" UW or something. The cohesiveness of one monitor is priceless IMO.

My favourite monitor configuration is having one monitor being vertical (primary monitor), and the secondary monitor being horizontal. Though someone with an eye for aesthetics like you might find the asymmetry distracting, it helps me work more efficiently. That new vertical monitor from LG is something I have been eyeing since LTT made that video.

Lg dualup is not so great. I'm finding it not so bright. Specially considering that I'm using it in pair with mbp and thunderbolt display. The apple screens are much brighter (~20-30%). But the formfactor over all is interesting. I was thinking about to use pair of dualup with mbp.

I got the dual up. I have a apple monitor in the way to go with my new studio. But it’s delayed about a month or so out. The dual up isn’t as sharp and clear my 5k iMac, but I’m running 8 plus windows at a time, always switching back and forth on my tasks. I found the dual up too some getting used to. But it combined with the magnets app, it makes my flow amazing!

I agree with your points but something odd but important for Mac owners is a table that we generated showing how certain resolutions on certain screen sizes steal some of your GPU power in order to run them in native or scaled resolutions. Sucks but that chart is one reason I jumped for the 5K Studio display for my Mac Studio even though I wanted a more reasonable $800-1000 4K monitor. I did get my Studio Display for $1300 out the door and I'm happy with it but most people will not be this lucky. And yes, it was NIB, not a return or something.

This is by far the most useful monitor guide I have seen. As a graphic designer, is using a curved ultra-wide 21:9 problematic for doing design work? I have some concerns that the curved display will result in some unexpected issues without a flat reference monitor.
