The snap is just the fingers slapping the palm, so it makes sense it would be louder on a fan grip. Louder snap doesn't necessarily mean more distance. With a power grip, it's even more important to, 'pour the coffee' with your wrist to get the disc on a level plane.

i 100% agree with ya, the "BERG" is awesome and i used to bag it but... like you said it's what i'd call a "crutch" and prevents you from learning touch and finess. 🤷♂

Crazy timing. I just bought a bergx because my friend has been telling me to get one for a while now and it’s his favorite approach disc. Have to test a little more but it looks like it’s making my bag and possibly taking the P3X out of the bag.

Here are my thoughts on the form asked at 8:09 You're pulling the disc from a high point in your reach back and throwing it towards the ground, but with the nose up, so it flies. That's what's creating the air bounce in your throw (I'm sure you've been told this countless times, sorry). The throw should start with the disc on the same line it will leave your hand on. It looks like you need to rework the mechanical movement you're doing with your arm. Here's something to try: rest your arm on a countertop or something flat, in the throwing position, with your elbow bent at 90 degrees and your palm side down. Do your reach back and pull-through motions, but keep your forearm in line with the edge of the surface your arm is on/being held over. the forearm arm should basically be moving in a straight, level line during the throw, or rather the disc should be. I hope this helps. Otherwise, the timing seemed pretty solid, I thought!

I have 2 berg x 1 1 1 2 its pretty much my approach disc for most scenarios that are within 150ft. Saved a ridiculous amount of shots. Just had 2 normal bergs come in the mail. Looking forward to my next rounds.

Berg is fun. I actually used to putt with them, but you're right its a bandaid disc as a thrower. I'm lucky enough to have a berg that is beat to heck that just holds a line though so its got to be in the bag as a bail out. It's great as a utility disc however due to the "beef" on the rim I think it can force its way through foliage a lot better than some other discs, that combined with the lack of glide means you can kinda yam on it up and over something pretty confident it'll get through the leaves but even though you threw it hard its not gonna go flying 100ft past where you were hoping your pitch out was gonna go.

I bag a Pure and a Berg. In a direct comparison, for me, I score lower with the Berg. But a lot of people make for of me using a Berg.

I picked up an Emerson Keith Opto-X explorer. I just played a tournament at Idlewild and this was my workhorse fairway driver. Completely straight for 330' or so and a smooth finish for the last 30'. Even in a headwind, I am not seeing any difference in flight. You have more arm than I do but I'm guessing it would be similar. The athena goes far, I just had more success in different winds with the Opto'X explorer holding it's line.

Nate! The only way you’re gonna throw more nose down is to reach back lower/change your reach back angle so the disc is below the elbow! It’ll feel weird at first but then will feel great, just literally think about reaching down

They're very similar. Berg is just more rounded and usually less touchy. If you want the advantages of a Berg but don't want it to be a crutch the Armadillo is great.

I disagree with everything you said. The Berg highlights extremely well your release angles. It holds the exact angle you throw it on.

Regarding your throw, and not getting clean, snappy, and flat releases ... I've noticed that, just before you start your run-up, you kind of look toward the camera and then ask morons like me to give advice. LOL, we're morons. Or, at least, I am. My only advice is "keep doing these videos, they're great!"
