Hi Tim.. Your review helped us decide the place to eat in Blackpool and we were impressed. Thank you! We liked the fish and the mushy peas. This chippy was one of the few places were the battered fish did not need any seasoning and tasted good on its own. The lemon and tartare sauce did add freshness and elevated the meal. Definitely recommended! Have you tried the fish & chips at Hodgson's chippy, Lancaster? and City Restaurant, Edinburgh? Worth the visit 😊

Have eaten in Yorkshire Fisheries many times over the years, my wife and kids love it. When in Blackpool, we don't go anywhere else for Fish and Chips. Food is great and staff are friendly and helpful. Hopefully be heading off to Blackpool in the summer this year to stay with family again, haven't been for the last couple of years due to ill health. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for this review- as a native of Yorkshire I must visit this one soon. I like fish & chips and mushy peas. Thanks for the tip about adding butter to home made mushy peas. I admit to shortcutting that with tinned variety. I tried them all over the years and found to my surprise that I preferred Morrisons Saver variety - currently around 25p a tin which will provide 2 good portions and freezes well. You don't get whole peas and the consistency is fine. Keep up the good work.

Visited in July and had the exact same table and server as you. I thought the fish and chips were fantastic, shame you didn’t have the curry sauce with it as that was truly amazing. I’d never had curry sauce with the spice and heat of that before, it made the perfect accompaniment. For me it’s a 10/10 the perfect example of traditional English fish and chip style cuisine.

Looked really, really good Tim, worth trying out methinks. I have another for you in Blackpool to try. It's near the Pleasure Beach. Called Bentley's Fish and Chips - 131 Bond St, Blackpool FY4 1HG. Be careful with parking in the area, a mix of permit holders parking, limited time of 1 hour. I've been here three times now including introducing a friend, and he loved it, as do I. Its "eat in" or "takeaway". Opted to eat in, lovely food, make a good cup of tea too, lots of condiments on table, toilets too.

Couldn’t have put a higher score than a 10 easy. To the Yorkshire Fisheries I have never visited it. I agree about the chips being a little pale which is a shame. I’d have to add a curry sauce on aswell as mushy peas. I don’t mind how they come as long as there is some taste to them. Bread n butter gotta make a butty when get it. I've eaten at Yorkshire Fisheries several time before and it's always been superb. However, I can't believe you ruined the taste of that delicious batter by smothering it in tartar sauce😣😣😣

I take it you are not a fan of the TARTA! ;-)

Milk first with white coffee, tea first then milk with tea. It has to do with temperatures. English tea is drunk hot and black or with very little milk. Coffee can be creamy to taste and can be enjoyed at a lower temperature.
