What an amazing, charming little town! I got curious and looked for it on Google Maps. I found out that the river that goes through the town is the border between Luxembourg and Germany, and the town is on what would be the German bank, but around Vianden the border makes a detour away from the river so that Vianden can be inside Luxembourg. I can imagine the treaties and negotiations among royalty and nobility many years ago that led to that situation, and I guess that it must have had something to do with the castle and the rights that came with it.

I lived in Vianden in 1958, in a house on the main street right below the castle, it had big iron letters on the facade for the year it was built: 1609.... My first job was working for the town electrician, who also owned the cable lift and the local cinema. I got to watch a lot of movies while I learned to operate the old carbon arc projectors and swap and splice reels of film..... Before this, we lived at the "Bivelser Muehle:, a bit upriver from Vianden. That place no longer exists, it is at the bottom of the lake behind the new dam.

Very enlightening video. A little off topic maybe, but there’s this woman I got in touch with during the 2020 lockdown which cost me my job. Ms. Norman Davis helped me manage my assets by introducing my to the best trading platform and strategies, I earned a lot of $$$ working with Norman at the comfort of my home. I still keep in touch with the amazing lady

As a single mother with 3 kids, it wasn’t easy having to raise them alone after my husband had passed. I remember the hardest part was when my eldest son got into college and having to pay for his tuition would not have been possible without the help of Ms Norman whom i had gotten in contact with the previous year. she assisted me and taught me how to earn extra income

I have a master in mathematical finance, so it wasn’t so easy to get me convinced to begin an investment without me carrying out proper research on her. I had her broker ID checked and she’s fully verified! So I began with a few bucks, only to get huge returns in a month. I reinvested and now I get long term monthly returns… So glad I don’t rely on pay checks anymore.

Not a lot of people are aware of this new market, only a handful know how it works, I was fortunate to reach out to Ms. Davis the beginning of last year, she put me through the basics as a mentor would do, I learnt and earned massively from trading at the comfort of my home.

I have really been looking into the away luggage, which looks to be what you guys just purchased. At some point soon can you do a video on how you pack them and which size is really the biggest bang for buck. I have heard the bigger carry-on still fits in the bag check basket at airports, but do they fit in the baskets for carry on in the European airports. Also trying to decide if doing the 18” would be large enough. I fly spirit a lot, and it seems to be the ideal size for it.
@Theendlessadventure5 жыл бұрын
We definitely keep meaning to do a packing guide showing everything in our bags...hopefully we'll make it a reality soon! And great eye - we got the bigger carry ons. We actually went to one of their stores and got the carry on size and the bigger one and did some trial packing to see which one worked. We were really hoping we could make do with the smaller one, but the couple extra inches on the bigger one made all the difference. We actually haven't had a chance to carry them on yet, but judging by previous experiences, I think they'd fit on most flights. Technically, they're about an inch over the limit on a lot of airlines, but so were some of our previous bags and we always made those work. 😉Hopefully we can try carrying them on soon and show off that process 👍
@timdiggle50905 жыл бұрын
Shame you passed so close to Maastricht and did not call in - well worth a visit. Historically it, along with Liège which is not quite so impressive but still worth visiting, was a major northern European crossroad town and still sits at the junction of 4 countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg) and on the river Meuse which is still a major commercial waterway.

Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories. My wife and I went to Vianden for a week in 1982. Traveled by motorcycle (Suzuki GT 250) from the UK, and camped at the campground in the village. We loved the chairlift, and bought fabulous icecreams topped with Chantilly cream and slices of Kiwi fruit. It seemed so decadent back then! From the chairlift we saw wild bore (pigs) in the woods. We also enjoyed great rides out through the Ardennes. Maybe I should return on my current bike!
