Thanks for all the work you do, Matt! What are your thoughts about putting one of the GembaRed Body Panels inside a traditional sauna? I have an Almost Heaven sauna with the Harvia heater. The sauna can get close to 200 degrees. Any idea if the heat inside the sauna would compromise the integrity of the red light panel? The FAQ page on GembaRed says no, as the panels are not rated for the heat and humidity inside traditional saunas. But I was wondering if you could provide some input, or if you've ever tried using a red light panel inside a traditional sauna (haven't found a video of this test yet).

Joov is severely overpriced junk. They were one of the first red light panels to the market so they got away with the cheap construction. Now that there are so many other red light products to choose from, they should be avoided until they get their pricing and quality competitive. Andrew is incredibly knowledgeable and a straight shooter, can't go wrong with Gamba Red products. I bought a large MitoRed panel and a small Gamba Red panel about 5 years ago and found Andrew while researching red light therapy back then and followed him ever since. He really knows his stuff. Red light saved my low back. Took me from crippled to active again.

I have a low emf sauna. Buying a traditional now for the research based health benefits (dementia lowering & cardio health, for ex.) Why are you not discussing the quality concerns with those as well ? Thanks.

Because I don’t use them, I build them. Get in my Facebook group… you don’t need a new sauna, just add the heater and make it a hybrid. Best of both worlds

Has he ever done any suggestions on saunas in other price ranges? I've looked through so many videos and can't really find any. I understand his favorites and the "bests" and he suggests spending the extra $3k but what if your budget is literally $2500 max? Is the suggestion not to buy one unless you can dish out at least $5k? Like do the cheaper models have zero value? Do they do more harm than good? Are there ANY that are better than others? Does he have any videos that anyone knows about that may go beyond his top 3 higher price range brands? I thought I was ready to purchase now I'm more scared than ever. 😅

Hey Matt, just found your channel, awesome information. What's your take on the steam sauna / traditional sauna being better than the FAR Infrared saunas? Huberman says the most benefits like heat shock proteins and growth hormones are at their max potential when using a traditional sauna / steam sauna because the temp's should be 186-210 degree's and FAR sauna's can't do that. Really interested in knowing the truth on this.

The real truth is you really have to test it. Everyone is running around saying different things left and right. To say you can’t make heat shock proteins with an infrared sauna is insane. It’s not the type of sauna creating them, it’s your body’s response to exceeding a threshold in an environmental stimuli. How you deliver that is up to you. That said, all these studies would be MUCH more useful if they included core body temp as a control metric. Traditional saunas work on convection until they’ve been running for a long duration. Infrared primarily work by delivering radiant heat, albeit with some convection… the air is in fact getting hotter inside. I think both are good, I just like the versatility with infrared and I think the detox is better. All that said, you can easily make any infrared sauna over 200F by adding a $300 traditional sauna heater. Check out my hybrids I built in the Facebook group.
