Three Key Takeaways: 1) Tech/Software Sales is going to be one of the most lucrative sales industries to go into mainly because pretty much every company uses or works with tech and/or software. If you can sell that tech and/or software to companies, you're the highest in demand. Plus, tech companies tend to be a little more progressive (remote roles, catered lunches, great benefits, etc...), 2) Pharmaceutical Sales and Medical Devices Sales is going to be the second best sales industry to go into because they are always going to be needed. In this country (U.S.A.) everyone needs healthcare, so if you can sell it, or things related to healthcare, then you're setting yourself up for a smoother process. However, these two sales industries tend to be a bit more old-school (in-person roles, company car, dealing with new drugs almost every day, etc...), 3) The Real Estate and Sales Engineer sales industries are the last two, but they both have their benefits. With real estate, your have less company structure so you're able to control your time much more. The downside is that there is usually very little (if any) base pay. As faar as becoming a Sales Engineer, this is a good position if you're not into the "closing" aspect of the sales process and want to focus more on showcasing the product/service

Some products like roofing can be more seasonal since no one wants to take the roof off in the middle of winter. That said, due to the harsher weather there is greater need for those exterior products. The demand can offset the seasonality. A lot require prior AE experience due to closing, I finally just got promoted to AE and that was something they harped on big. But like he said it depends from job to job. I do hybrid tech sales, so they are a little more serious about closing and bringing in revenue

I need some advice. I’ve been in auto sales for the last 3 years and I’m tired of it. I love selling - building rapport with people, using my product knowledge to make a recommendation and help people solve their problems. But, I’m just sick of the car industry.
