I received $800 trade in on my 2 year old fold3 (with a broken big screen) when I got the fold5. Yes I paid $1700 for the fold3 when it was new, but I suppose that can be considered an initial investment. My fold3's screen lasted about 20 months before stress cracking down the middle (multiple folds daily)... Long story short, if the fold5 last at least 20 months AND they offer me $800+ when I replace it, I think the price is reasonable. If this screen fails before 18 months, I'll probably move away from folds.

Floss maybe you would agree, I'm a Samsungnite & have had every Samsung fold starting with the Fold 2 & preordered my Fold 5. The thing that sucks about these Samsung cases or most fold cases in general is they look great & feel great at first but once you take off that case even once after putting it on, that tape never really sticks the same, pretty much rendering that top screen part of the case useless. They should find a way to make the front case snap on just as good as the back part without the necessity of the tape... That's a fail for a $100 case in my eyes

I can tell that you haven't used the slim case for even a few hours because as nice as the case and slim as it is, the weakness lies in the top cover where once you remove it once or twice to wipe off the terrible amount of lint the phone accumulates in your pocket, it won't be sticky any more and the top frame keeps falling off very easily. Any case that needs some sort of stickers to keep it in place is just plain bad design

I have the same case but I find the back is thicker than it needs to be, yet the spen isn't sunk in enough to keep it from rocking on the table. That also means that the front case trim has to be equally deep to match the back, which makes it difficult to navigate with swipes from the edges. It could have been a bit better.

I bought the standing case with strap during preorder cause I think the new s pen is too slim for my big hand. Turns out you can swap out the strap and fit in last gen s pen if you really need to use the pen. Personally I think the standing case with strap is far more worthy than the new s pen case in terms of price. Edit: I meant to say functionality instead of price since they have totally different components regarding how you use your phone.

You don't want that actually. Those screen cover shields get tons of grease and smudges on it. Then it covers up the front camera with thosr smears. It's horrible.

@christopherhawkins5456 not any from Samsung with a front screen. Samsung does sell screen protectors for the front screen. I actually don't like this either. The reasoning is because after a 2 weeks it so of us, you can see the protector wearing off where you swipe the most. I still use this one because it's the best one I've found besides zaggs.

I was excited about the case since the fold 4 s-pen case was annoying with the pen sticking out so much but the s-pen can fall out really easily with this new case. It can turn while you're handling it and it just falls out. 😢 its happened to me but ive been at home and have found it. I still like the cover and the size of the pen but i know i will lose the pen at some point.

I know this comment is 5 months old, but I think it's still worthwhile to add some context. Some of the initial production runs of this case did have the problem that the commenter described. But Samsung did address the issue, and it's no longer a problem. I just bought my Slim S Pen Case today because I'm a cheap bastard and waited until I found it for 40% off, and my S Pen is very snug. No play or looseness of any kind. It's so snug now that even after sliding the release button down, it still clings to the case.

@edwinramos4910 I'm happy to say that 5 months later, I haven't lost the s-pen yet! It has fallen out a handful of times but luckily it only fell out once in the car but the other times at home so I have always found it. Glad to hear that they addressed this. I can definitely say that the lip around the case has zero buffer/ protection if it falls flat on its face (open) from a height of exactly 34". My screen has not a single scratch or crack but has a 5mm black dot and a bright white line across the screen.....so all in all this case looks nice but offers little protection for a $3K phone 😐

Yep, you can easily roll it with your fingers whilst holding the phone. I've done it accidentally a few times and had the pen fall out.

The upper part of this case reminds me of the Samsung case i had for my Z Fold 3, the outer part snapped in the corner, no droppage involved, checked online and i wasnt the only one to have experienced this, wonder if this will be more durable.
