Laphrroaig Sherry Oak for me. Absolutely stunning. Biggest surprise was Eagle Rare 10. Don’t normally drink bourbon but picked a bottle up on offer from a well known supermarket. Ridiculously drinkable!

The PL is fantastic, have you tried the 10th anniversary? It’s got about half of the same cask finish in it, but also about a year and a half older, it’s fantastic stuff and less than half the price.

@@JeffWhisky They launched the craft presented trio of 10, 16 and 21 in the last few months here and I had them at tastings. The 21 seemed impressive in that first impression but far out of my price range, the 16 not all that expensive but really didn't impress, but the 10 is a charmer at very good price here, and my bottle is dwindling fast.

Not tried many of these. Great FOMO fodder! I think my bargain bottle of the year is the Tullibardine Sauternes Cask. Great value when on sale. In terms of best bottle, that's difficult. But the one bottle I went straight back out to buy another of is Circumstance's Cask Strength release.

My top Scotch of the year has to be Ardbeg The Abyss. I reviewed it with Vin PF over on the No Nonsense Whisky channel. Shame it's 21250GBP a bottle!

I suppose we have gone from the more formal "Best Whisky Awards of of the Year" decided in corporate board rooms and influenced by company sponsors, to lists like yours, which are so so personal. They reflect your own social circles and bottles talked about and handed around. They reflect what was available in your market, in the shops you had access to. For many, your choices are obscure products that they have never heard of and will most likely never see. I suppose that's the advantage and disadvantage of KZbin videos like this.

@@JeffWhisky It's nice of you to ask. Also a very personal choice. Two Single Malts stand out for me this year. The M&H Single Cask 59% Kosher Peated Ex-PX Cask No2021-3110. There has never been any example of a heavily peated Kosher Ex-Sherry Cask bottling ever in history, as far as I'm aware. It's the first time in my 35 years of whisky exploration that I've ever experienced a single malt of this style and I have to say, it's pretty delicious stuff. That combination of First-Fill Sherry cask dark berries and dried fruit, married with the earthy peat is certainly quite a unique and very enjoyable tasting experience. The other memorable bottle was the Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Tequila Cask Finish Cask# 18/981 and was quite superb.
