Dude you had a killer 2024 and well deserved! That WOTY sounds a banger and certainly slaps. Keep being awesome and hope to bump into you again in 2025!

Great summary and picks. I have been enjoying the young heavily peated bottlings this year including the Torabhaig, Ardnahoe, Lagg and most recently a banger Bunnahabhain Staoisha. These all go decently head to head with the Octomore series and at 1/3 the price. I sense a disturbance in the market force. Slàinte and Happy New Year
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Thank you for watching, glad to know you like the list 😃 I'm with you on the young peated malts, they are very very enjoyable! and yes absolutely there is a disturbance for good reason. Let's see what the new year will bring. Happy holidays ahead

Peaked in 2024? Not a chance buddy, not a chance. That Bruichladdich 18 is gorgeous. Benromach 50 is a true bucketing dram, just wow. Glad you got to try it and do all of your work at the distillery. I just opened a bottle of the AD Sherry a couple weeks back and am loving it. Such a good whisky. Great list Sertug. Cheers to 2025 buddy 🥃

Hahaha I sure hope not Matt 😃 but it sure was a great whisky year for me! I'm glad to know you're enjoying it as well, it's just such a well made whisky! Roll on 2025 with more whisky and happiness! Happy holidays ahead to you and yours my friend

Great picks Sertug! Always enjoy your reviews and always hoping you’ll come around to Kilkerran. Keep up the great work my friend.

Thank you Kevin, I'm happy you approve 😃 I really enjoyed the Kilkerran 16 but I can't say the same about the rest of the core range 😬 Thanks for watching my friend, happy holidays ahead

Great list buddy and solid choice! They have an unpeated version of Ardna sherry here in Taiwan that's also a banger. Cheers and Merry Christmas! 🥃🥃🥃
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Cheers Geoff, glad you approve! Ah really I didn't know that. I do love the half n half approach Ardnamurchan takes with peated and unpeated barley. The peat never overpowers and adds a nice little kick like a balancedly seasoned food. Cheers and happy holidays ahead

What a legendary whisky year Sertug! Gonna keep an eye out for your WOY. Fingers crossed it comes my way. Keep it up brother!! Oh, I'm still deciding on my choice.... haven't tried too many newbies this year but I'll be sure to let ya know.
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Thanks Freed! Yes do so as it ticks all the boxes you want out of a well made sherried peated malt! Curious about your pick too my friend. Cheer and happy holidays to you and yours

I agree, the speyburn 10 is one of my worst whiskies but I want to give the 15 a go! Merry. Christmas my friend 🥃
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Yes the 15 is a real real solid dram, completely different than the 10. Merry Christmas Ash

Great list, Sertug, even if I haven't tried obviously all of these, and alas not the latest batch of your winner...Happy for you you had such a great blast in many of your tastings & overall of course, beyond everything, that amazing Benromach adventure, unforgettable for sure ! Cheers to the festive season (I always give my wishes for the new year in due course) ! 👍🥃

Thanks Greg, glad you liked it 😃 Yeah it's hard to try all of them when there's so so many great bottles out there. Thank you for your kind wishes and I wish you a happy festive season and happy holidays to you and yours 😃

Campbeltown is usually my favourite especially Springbank 12 CS and Kilkerran 16. But Ardnamurchan is my new favourite distillery so here is to your choice! Cheers grazie 🙏 S.
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Yeah if I can find it I'll happily have Springbank 10 or 12 any day but long gone are the days of easy access to those drams. Glad you agree and like my whisky of the year. Here's to an even better 2025
@andrewbutler7681Ай бұрын
Nice selection! This year I have mostly been alternating between buying old, expensive bottles from closed distilleries and new releases from young distilleries that show promise, but aren't quite there yet, which makes picking favourites that I can recommend - that people have a reasonable chance of buying - somewhat difficult. For Scotch single malt I would have to go for Craigellachie 13 Finished in Bas Armagnac Barrels. The Tiger's Eye Master Blender's Edition Blended Malt was pretty good, but may be even less findable. For World Whisky I'll suggest the single malt from Two Brewers in Canada. However, I have a big tasting backlog, so that could all change before the end of the year...
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Hahahah that's a brilliant strategy to get two ends of the spectrum, love it! The 13 Bas Armagnac was good for sure but I think I prefer the regular 13. I have not heard of Tiger's Eye but I have heard of Two Brewers. I'm rather skeptical when it comes to Canadian whisky as the regulations seem to be a bit blurry and it's hard to find decent offerings at where I am. Thanks for watching and your thoughts. Cheers and happy holidays

Great choices! Haven’t had that one but Ardnamurchan IS whisky 🥃 Cheers and Happy Holidays 😇

Great to see you on Benromach website. Lovely vibes on your YT channel. Have you ever tried any high quality rums?
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Ah thank you very much for your kind words 😃 I'll write a few ones I've tried which I remember and you tell me if they're good quality or not because I'm not well versed in rum unfortunately. The ones I've enjoyed and felt a bit unique to me were, Hampden 8 year old, Diplomatico Reserva, Ron Zacapa 23 and El Dorado 15. Out of these I really enjoyed the Diplomatioco and the Hampden felt weird in a good way 😄
@SwapBlogRUАй бұрын
Bruichladdich is a bit of a weird one for me. I've only tried the Port Charlotte 10 version, which I would imagine is effectively the A-class or the 1-series, if we were to draw parallels to cars, and - it's a lovely whisky, but I found it to be a bit too harsh and too smokey, and that's coming from someone who loves a smokey whisky. Maybe I was just in the wrong mood.
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Well the PC 10 is for sure smoky and peaty but I find it rather well balanced with wine casks and not using Islay peat. When it comes to tasting though there is no right or wrong as all our palates are different. The regular Bruichladdich range is unpeated, maybe give the Classic Laddie a shot if you can find it. Thanks for watching, cheers

Have u tried Indri
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Yes I have tried both version of the Trini, the lower abv one released just for India and the one you can get in the rest of the world. Not impressed with it to be honest. It's not a bad dram for sure but it just feels like a middle of the road Scotch single malt. Do you like it?

very expensive taste. what affordable whiskey do u recommend ?
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Unfortunately whisky is getting more and more expensive. If you tell me what amount you're comfortable spending on whisky I could give some recommendations to you (the prices I'd give would be the prices of UK market).
@jasonj8246Ай бұрын
@@thewhiskyenthusiastI have a budget of around 100 what would you recommend?
@thewhiskyenthusiastАй бұрын
Well apart from the Benromach Distillery Exclusive, Snow Phoenix, Bruichladdich 18 and the Springbank all the others from the regions are under 100@@jasonj8246
