really struggling with getting it to cure right and not crack, what would you suggest in terms of what temperature to have the flash dryer at, what the ink temp needs to get to, how long to cure it for and about how high above the garment it should be? Would really appreciate some insight!!! Driving myself crazy with it being inconsistent and everyone kind of says different things.
@baavproductions Жыл бұрын
Curing is one of hard parts especially when starting out and it’s okay to go through that. For plastisol inks you need to get to at least 330 degrees for a cure but that doesn’t mean only reach 330 and that’s it. It more importantly means get to 330 degrees and let it dwell at that temperature for 15-20 seconds at least to get a full cure Try letting it sit for 15 seconds at 315-330 degrees and see if that helps solve your problem. If you stretch test the fabric right after you cure keep in mind the print is hot!! Let it cool down before you see if it’s cured or not Hope this helps🙏🏽

Hey, I love watching your videos. You make it all look fun and easy. When I was I. The NAVY I learned how to silkscreen from KZbin I order to offer my command division/unit shirts. I did great with the one colors but overlapping colors was a night mare for me. I have Riley 4 foot 1 station but was never brave enough to do 4 colors at once.

Do you have experience just using a heat gun to cure the ink? Does that work well enough? Or is the flash dryer the way to go for best results?
@baavproductions3 жыл бұрын
I don't have experience with that. Great question but my personal advice is just get a flash dryer. It is well worth your time and money. The amount of time it takes to cure and flash a shirt with a heat gun vs a flash dryer is a big difference. Those couple seconds may not seem like a difference per shirt but when you do an order in bulk, time will definitely tell. Plus it just gives better results with a flash dryer than a heat gun because you may miss some spots!

I have the same one that broke on you what temperature did you have it set at? And how long did you usually leave it under there for?
@baavproductions3 жыл бұрын
I try to get it so that when it hits the shirt it ranged between 230-260 for a few seconds. The longer you have it under the flash, ofc it will raise in temperature. You can cure the ink by having it under there longer but to flash it I would get it so that it hits 230-260 for between 4-10 seconds. See what works best with your operation and flow and mess around with the height.

Look at the reviews on every one of these vevor flash dryers. Alot of people are having electrical and fire related issues. That's if it even turns on when you unbox it.

You can adjust the temp or adjust the height for more or less heat

I have that same one and it keeps melting my extension cords that I hook it up to. As if the heat from the flash dryer is sending the heat through the cords. Is it my outlet my extension cord or my flash dryer ? It’s driving me crazy
@baavproductions3 жыл бұрын
That's weird and definitely does not sound right. You can never be too sure with China products. However it has been holding up great for me. I don't use an extension cord so maybe try it without an extension cord?
@Derek_S3 жыл бұрын
Something drawing 2KW needs a heavy duty extension lead. A light duty one like you use for hand power tools just isn't up to it. Also, never, ever use an extension lead coiled up as that will heat up on it's own regardless of how thick the cable is. That's how induction cookers work.

For the transparency sheets? I just print them all in all black ink. I have an all black ink printer with the Dmax inks. I have a video on changing the ink to black ink for the printer up if you go look at my past uploads.

Does the plug in ever get hot? Do you just plug it into the wall? I’m looking at this and I noticed it runs at 2000W & 18.2A and that’s definitely pushing it. Somewhat worried about it melting outlets/cords, etc.
@baavproductions2 жыл бұрын
Mhm it may get slightly hot but still worked well for me for a few years. Not advice but just my experience with them. Keep in mind they are a cheaper option so not the absolute best quality but a great beginner flash for sure.

Is this flash dryer 110volt or 220?
@baavproductions3 жыл бұрын
110 volt. It may be slightly higher and pop the fuse in your house, if it does happen just go ahead and switch it back on. Shouldn't be a big issue, as I use it on a 110 Volt.

I wouldn't say swivels the easiest. I mainly just use it as is and don't mess with it. Though i have moved it around but keep it mind the legs are a little wide.
