I still cry when I think about it. My abridged version-SPOILERS!!! It was customary at the death of a shadowhunter for the friends and family to gather around the bedside and tell stories. Some would find it odd, the sight of an old man being cradled by a woman young enough to be his granddaughter, but for those present, it was just Will and Tessa. They all told stories, of the green mountains and deep blue lakes of Wales, of demon pox and songs passed down. Then when everyone else had left, Will and Tessa lay together in the dark and told stories only they knew. Of the girl who hit a boy on the head with a pitcher, and how he fell in love with her in that moment, of holy water and blood. Afterward, Jem took out his violin and began to play. He played two boys training together and then playing cards. Two young men running through the streets of London, then stopping up against a building to catch their breath and laugh. The memories came on and on. Then, with his hand in Jem's and his head on Tessa's shoulder, his eyes slid closed and he died. After that she fled. She had endured the death of her husband. She could not survive the death of her children. There were times when Tessa was horrified to realize she had forgotten the exact blue of Will's eyes. She found Magnus in New York and stayed with him. Some nights she would wake up screaming for Will and Magnus would come to her side. "The first one's always the hardest", he would tell her. This is my own little imagination-every Christmas since his passing, Tessa thinks back to Sophie's Ascension ceremony and remembers how the snow began to fall and make patterns on the floor. Will leans over and says in her ear, "Merry Christmas, Tessa."

I love the Dark Artifices a bit more that Infernal Devices but Will was the best Herondale I loved Jace but Will, Jem and Tessa best Trio and love triangle by far. I wonder if Christine’s opinion will change after reading Queen of Air and Darkness along with the epilogues and extra story at the end. Leandro Azevedo I wont spoil anything but in my humblest opinion- it doesn’t even compare in the slightest. It’s not meant to be sad, it ends on a cliffhanger but it’s honestly not all that. Clockwork princess epilogue is a billion times better and you probably won’t even shed a tear at QOAAD one (during the book yes, but the epilogue no)

silverforgold I feel so bad that it only got one win 😓😓😂 I mean, like, I do have to agree that Will is the better Herondale IMO but SEBASTIAN IS THE BEST VILLAIN BY FAR AND HIS DARK ARMY IS WAY BETTER THAN THE INFERNAL ARMY! Yeah yeah Sebastian and his dark army were awful and deserved ZERO redemption because they were that evil but that is totally what made them the best villains. Like Fade and Annabel are really good villains too but with the way TDA has finished I almost feel as if Fade and Annabel were never meant to be seen as the huge villains of the story. Yes they were central parts of the bad points of TDA but the way Queen ends makes Fade and Annabel seem pretty much irrelevant. Plus I’m ngl but COHF is the best last book against Princess (not counting Queen because that is definitely even better than COHF) because the whole book is just full of action and there’s honestly not a single boring part of that book whereas with Princess I feel like the second half of the book is where it gets good because the epilogue is so heart breaking and it really does have an amazing ending, but whenever I read it I do usually find myself skipping loads of sections just to get to the part where Will finds Tessa in the cave and reading from there to the end. So I do think that TMI deserves way more appreciation IMO 😂😂

Plus TMI is the very first proper book series I read from when I was 11 and I’m 17 now (I never liked reading much before reading TMI) and it was the series that made me LOVE reading so much- legit not a single day has gone by since then where I’m not reading something- so I feel a certain loyalty towards the TMI books and the characters in them 😂😂
