*SPOILERS* THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING but I felt like the new characters were "disposable", like George, Jon, Beatriz, Marisol and the others. I feel like Cassandra didn't want to have to "deal" with them in future books, so she didn't expand much on them or, like in case of someone we know, just got rid of them. What I really liked is that we get to see more of Catarina and I really liked her. Also I loved Max Lightwood like that was the sweetest thing in the world.

Oh my God Christine. How have you not finished the Bane Chronicles. I'll admit I did the same thing as you but if you read NOTHING else from that book then read 'The Course of True Love (And First Dates)' then 'What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything (And Who You're Not Officially Dating Anyway' And lastly 'The Voicemail of Magnus Bane'. The others slightly dragged but these where the ones about Magnus and Alec and I could not handle the feels. The other really good one was 'Saving Raphael Santiago' at which I almost cried. I had started the first story but i couldn't get into it so i just skipped the next two storys and oh my goodness i loveddddd all of the rest of the story's afterwards!!! my favorites were the midnight heir and saving Raphael santiago. Absolutely recommend it to everyone

My best part of tales from shadow hunter academy was part 9 where simon and his friends found an abandoned warlock baby they later abandoned.I cried and cried and cried not only about their love but their humanity pflowed out so much for that baby that i can't help it but break down emotionally. I totally agreed with the person that said the genarational jump/cross in mrs claire books is difficult to keep up with . So many stories at once and no conclusion mostly on those stories in the same book ,then takes another book or2 before something is said again about it yet no conclusion,am still waiting to hear something about kiran ,mark ,emma and what happened after magnus's collapse on the day robert lockwood died killed by the blackthorn risen up from dead lady , i mean the girlfriend of the othet warlock during the uprising of some hard line shadow hunter.

I thought only I screamed while reading books and gets so excited, but then I found Christine and I found life. When I was reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince when it first came out (I’m 30. Don’t @ Me) I was lying in the jacuzzi tub at my parents place (Doesn’t everyone read in the tub? No. Just me. Cool) and Dumbledore DIED I threw the book ACROSS THE BATHROOM and it hit the wall and I SCREAMED so LOUD that my mom came running thinking I’d fallen and hurt myself. Christine! You should finish the Bane Chronicles. I admit, the first two were pretty dull. But it gets so much better! Like the Shadowhunter Academy series, it isn't just Magnus (tho we love him) there are stories of Will's dad, Edmund Herondale. And Tessa. When Magnus met Jocelyn and helped her alter Clary's memory. There's also this thing that's a collection of Magnus's voice messages that he received (set after City of Lost Souls so...you know)

Hey Christine! Idk if you watched tonight's Shadowhunters episode but I think it was actually pretty damn good! Aside from a couple missteps (mostly some not-so-great acting from Clary at times), they actually did a really good job on this one. Effects weren't bad, Magnus was great, the character interactions were engaging, and except for maybe one line from Izzy, the dialogue was good too. I hope you like it too. After the last ep, I was really nervous about this series but imo this ep turned things completely around.

Ok, so I vaguely remember reading somewhere that these would be coming out, but I had no idea they were already out! I completely forgot about them! I love the hilarity of your book talks so I'm very very tempted to keep watching (usually I'm not too bothered by spoilers) but now I don't know...I love Cassandra's books so much that I really want to read them first and come back but I have no time due to college classes! I'm already trying to keep up with the Harry Potter series for one of my classes and that takes up a huge chunk of my time...I guess, I'll try and find them and come back. If you don't want to read all of the Bane Chronicles, I would recommend at least: Last Stand of the New York Institute and The Midnight Heir. New York Institute gives more backstory to the Circle, and Midnight Heir seems to be a lead in to The Last Hours series. Also Tessa is in both!

Never read this but fascinated by the Jack the Ripper story. Historical fact: H.H. Holmes was a serial killer in the 1800s rumored to be Jack The Ripper as well and he did kill a child and stuff him in the chimney too.

+Lisa Wilhelmsson Not really, you don't. They don't reference a lot of stuff, it's mainly The Blackthorns' story the whole book. But you should read Shadowhunter Academy, it's awesome!

I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU, CHRISTINE!!!! If it weren't for you I wouldn't have known about the Shadowhunter Academy novellas and that just sounds tragic to me now that I've read them. IT WAS GLORIOUS! I loved it from beginning to end. It made me laugh so hard, and then it made me cry just as hard too. So many new characters and I loved every one of them. Omg the feels! So many feels while reading these novellas! Now, I can watch your full review and fangirl all over again.

If you still haven't read the bane chronicles, I recommend listening to the audiobook. That's how I read them and it was fantastic.
