I ordered QED Select 3526 Faux Horn Manchurian silvertip badger 26mm knot last night. I love these knots. Just pure silk without sacrificing backbone.

I used to be a huge synthetic brush fan but since I got my 5024 from Charles I don't use any other brush. It's just as soft as my synths but without the springiness. I think Charles' brushes are great because they are the total package.

I have always used synthetics and have deterred away from badger because of stiffness but after watching this I really learned something about how the knot is set, I honestly never have thought about it. I have a handful of badgers and none are really that great and I think it's the way the knot was set in the handle. I pulled the trigger on a 3324 this morning and I can't wait to give it a try. You have given me hope with badger brushes and I thank you sir. And thank you for bringing your positivity and enthusiasm to the wet shaving community. Love watching your videos, always makes me feel better after watching. Take care!

I have a few brushes, a couple synthetics, a couple boars, and 2 silvetips, one of which is a Savile Row 3624. I reach for the SR 90% of the time. It feels and works the best of all of them. Never knew why aside from the fact that I just liked it more. Your loft set explanation coupled with the density of the knot makes sense. 24mm seems to hit the sweet spot on size for me too.

Good vid man. Nice and informative. I think the softest knot i have and is one of my favorite brushes is my Rich Man Shaving White Top Blood Oath with a 26mm Ultra Lux Knot. That knot is soooo soft and smooth! If you get a chance to try one of those knots, i think you would like it. 😁👍🏼

I like the Saville row brushes. I had one for years and dropped it and cracked the handle. I rebought a thater beehive and have been using it for years but still think about the Saville row.

Thater is a close second to Savile Row !!
@j-sonS2 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyEspositoTheStallion I noticed when you saturate/wet both thater and Saville row brushes and then look downward over the top of them, the thater seems to be more densely packed and the Saville seems to have more "bald spots"

Just got my QED 1824 red garnet yesterday and used it once so far. It’s the softest knot I’ve ever used! Always used synths but I’m a convert now. Question: size is 1824, I know the 24 is a 24mm knot diameter but what measurement is the 18?
@AnthonyEspositoTheStallion2 жыл бұрын
It's not a measurement, it's just the handle style !! Charles does that with all his brushes !! Like 3324, it's 33 style handle with 24mm knot, 3326 is 33 style handle with 26mm knot, etc .....

@@AnthonyEspositoTheStallion this friggin brush is awesome. I can't believe how nice it felt. That bloom is crazy. I'm really glad you opened my eyes to these. The handle is also so comfortable. I am not very happy with the other badger brush I have. It is way to dense and set too low.

I just broke my brush by wringing it out too aggressively. The hairs came apart from the handle. It was a cheap Amazon brush so I’m not too brokenhearted about it. I’m wondering if you have any suggestions of how to not do that if I order a nicer brush, like a QED?

Hiya Vincent, First-time viewer, Zac recommended you and I'm a big fan of his. And what an educational ride this was. Thank you. I will say my first fancy brush was a Paladin 2-band I never understood why it felt so hard/stiff, well, now I do. Zac also recommended the QED brush and I snagged the 26mm red yesterday. And I'm getting a couple of more from him as well after your video. Again thanks, Vincent. Saludos ~ JB

Bro, I own 15 Savile Row/QED Select Badger brushes, between all 15 brushes I think 4 or 5 total hairs came off all 15 !! So I have NO IDEA what you're talking about or where you get or got your information !! And, all 4 or 5 of those hairs that came off was on first use !! Synthetic brushes do nothing for me, they do not retain heat like a Badger, nor does the flow through compare to Badger !! But to each their own, continue to use your cheap, no soul brushes, whatever you like to use !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
