Makes you feel like it was worth it.

I believe after awhile of using the shoes, oils start to come to the surface and give off a white sheen effect. Using this will massage the oils back into the leather to get rid of the white plastic look.

What about deer bone?
@Shellvedge Жыл бұрын
I’m not a fan. It works, but it’s just a difficult tool to use that makes things worse more than it makes them better

Horween has been using a glass rod for polishing the last 130 years . And it’s a lot cheaper.

In their glazing finishing. Sure. But that’s not cheaper… that’s a heavy piece of machinery. That isn’t a tool for caring for shell cordovan shoes and boots, or any finished product. That’s a tool for the finishing process of tanning leather. 2 different things. Right?

How about you tell us what the bloody things do? Ffs

Ffs! Damn it. Lol. The tool is in the linked and pinned comment bud, you can read all about it as well as watch the full length video on the channel about it. But don’t worry, ffs I made a short for you.

@blackbriarwolf quite the contrary. Ebony is the densest wood, and when crafted specifically for leather work, it is highly compressed and treated exactly for that use case. Wood leather slickers are a primary tool in shoemaking and leather burnishing. It’s a much more tailored and intentional tool, vs a deer bone which is more widely promoted for this use, but is underwhelming in all aspects of its use and required upkeep, which is insane in my eyes. You must maintain, treat and store a tool, which is intended to be a tool itself for the purposes of care.
