Ingredients
For the EGG FOO YOUNG:
• 10 oz of Shrimp (about 8 if your use jumbo size)
• 1 tsp soy sauce
• 2 tsp cornstarch
• 2 - 3 tbs flour
• 2 cups mung bean sprouts
• 6 large eggs
• ½ tsp sesame oil
• ¼ white pepper powder
• 1 stalk of green scallion chopped
For the gravy
• 2 tbs olive oil
• ½ chopped onion (diced)
• 1 - 2 tbs flour
• ¼ tsp garlic powder
• 1/8 tsp white pepper powder
• 2 cups chicken stock
• 2 tsp soy sauce
• 1 tbs oyster sauce
• ½ tsp sesame oil
• 2tsp cornstarch mix with 2 tsp of water (to thicken the gravy)

I always put mine into the gravy once they are cooked. The first time I had these at a resturant that's the way they did and served it over rice. So tummy. Chopped mushrooms are good in them also.

Question, if you know, not exactly part of your recipe process, but, I grew my own bean sprouts, do I need to cook them first?

If you want to incorporate bean sprouts into this recipe, I would blanch it with boil water in a minute first. Strain out the water from the beans sprouts and let it cool and then you can incorporate into the egg foo young mixture

Your recipes look delicious. I’ve never seen it made with flour in the egg, only a corn flour slurry. I’d love to see a recipe for Tomato Beef Chow Mein with curry. I can’t find any recipes for it and it’s one of my husbands favorite Chinese take aways. We also love Spicy Wonton when they put the red chili oil over the soft Wontons.
