Great review Mike. The only thing I think needs to be mentioned is that the Sigma Unit(and maybe others) is like owning 2 of these for that $5100. Or you can get the 3DOF Sigma for $3900. I don't work for them but have been doing loads of research on this lately.

I just want to state that I have a Next Level V3 Motion $3,000.00 unit. This is the second one I have owned with the first one failing and replaced by Next Level. The replacement unit has failed to operate correctly as well. Both have had the identical problem of not being able to align the platform correctly, which results in the seat being slanted to one side by two inches. I have been in contact with their support for three months now dealing with two support personnel. I have received far too many requests (some repetitive) to 'Try This/ That' which required me to disassemble and reassemble my rig many times with not a solution to my problem. Sometimes a reply from Next Level regarding the problem took five business days. I have been a faithful buyer/ fan of Next Level for years, however I will not purchase another item from them. Regarding their support... it Ain't what it used to be.

I called the sim dealer and they told me they could fix my V3 and that they would call me when the part came in. They didn't call back. I contacted them again, and was told that they would locate the needed part, and when they found it they would call me back. That was two weeks ago, and no one has contacted me. as an owner of fully self made 6DOF motion rig i know what you feel Mike, once you go motion there is no way back. it feels strange now when racing without motion. there is something obvious that is missing :) great setup! EDIT: after watching entire video, try putting it in reverse (motion piece in front). this way you will feel better those sausage kerbs when you hit them with your front wheels. also, in regards to monitors - it is personal preference i think but one thing to consider is the amount of movement - especially if you add YAW to a motion rig - then it is like using eyetracker you turn your head and need to compensate with your eyes... now, try that in VR :)

I'll say in my limited experience with motion, I choose the fastest car that I use regularly and set the motion to that car. That way if I use a lower power car the motion will feel less aggressive naturally, otherwise you have to set a motion profile for every car in each game which can be a pain. :) Also I feel this product is very expensive for what it is (I feel the same about the seat mover) but I suppose it's intended customer is one that is less DIY and more Plug and Play. Either way, more motion options is not a bad thing!!!

My questions are, did you run this front and rear mounted?? If so what are your thoughts on both mount locations?? Secondly. Do you run haptic transducers with this?? If so how many?? Will I need to run 4 at all 4 corners ontop of this motion system?? Or did you find yourself only needing to run 1 transducer under your seat while using this motion system?? Sorry for the barrage of questions. But I appreciate any advice you send my way!

I think yes from the tone of your review but wanted to ask. If you got a 2nd unit of this thing, does that negate the need for the v3 seat mover? I can’t figure out how the v3 seat mover is meant to compliment this rig mover.

@@kohcyrus3543 Since every reviewer seems to avoid this question, maybe you can help. I have a Traction Plus and can put either a V3 or a SINGLE Motion Plus on the unit. If you had to choose one, which one would you pick? V3 or Motion Plus. (As a side note, 90% of the time I am driving rally).
@kohcyrus35432 жыл бұрын
@@asdfhiuh Hi steve, maybe I can help. There is one thing that the V3 does better, the sway effect. Wenn I switch off the V3 and drive only with the motion plus, I really miss the longitudinal G force. All the other effects are more realistic with the motion plus because the whole rig moves and not only the seat. Overall I would prefer the motion plus, but there is on drawback, you need two motion plus to have a realistic lateral G-force. With one motion plus the lateral effect is not that good, it wobbles only and that's not a good solution. Maybe it is better, when the motion plus is mounted at the back, I have it at the front because of the V3 and for me the lateral effect feels like wobbling because the seesaw is under the seat. I hope I can buy a second motion plus next year ,-) The V3 offers you a lot of fun, especially in rally sims, but it' feels not that realistic because your steering wheel and your pedals don't move. For a decision, I think it comes down to what's more important to you, realism or action.

Very well done video, Mike. It seems like the range of motion on this unit is less than many other 3DOF sims out there. I understand how motion sims work, and that they don’t replicate motion IRL, but more trick the rider into believing what he or she is seeing (especially in VR), but still, this NLR device looks to be fairly minimal compared to the DOF Reality, and the upcoming Yaw 2, both of which come in < the price of this NLR rig. This pricing comparison is exacerbated when you realize you need to supply/purchase a complete sim rig in addition to the NLR device, which will push you well over $4,000.

No problem, only in BeamNG you need some UDP port-forwarding which I wouldn't get to work. The NLR-software also supports shakers, but I guess SimHub is better by now since I also ditched SimVibe for it. In the 4k range you have other choices as well. SimXperience GS-5 and G-Seat is what I'm using and 6 DOF is unbeatable, but it can't bang you around like a real car or powerful motion-rig. Simrig SR2 has a good price per performance, but 4-pole motion doesn't do any significant g-force feeling other than bumps and this NLR Motion Plus seems rather a nice addition for NLR v3 owners. The best is trying before buying because personal preferences can differ a lot like with FFB.

I suspect that the NLR Motion Plus is roughly in the same power category, but that's just speculation on my part.
