She is a great singer and a magnificent human being.

Not only on interviews. It's easy to pretend to be humble when they're filming you. But in an environment where you're not being recorded, that's another story. I went to the meet and greet with Nightwish in Rio, and she was absolutely amazing. Not only she wanted to know her fans, but when I spoke of her masterclass, she wanted a full feedback, and she was happy I wanted the managers to be in my photo, since she agrees there would be no Nightwish without them

Its not an exaggeration to say nightwish's music saved my life. She can sing only ONE style that fake opera style of hers, but she has a terrible accent, her vowels sound like a chainsaw, there is always a strange disphonia in her voice, like she tries to sing with a raised palatte but is not able to raise it enough, her vibrato is wide and slow and her notes are wobbly and insecure, she often has pitch problems, and her register changes are clunky to say the least... 2.) Floor Jansen on the other hand has BY FAR the BEST voice in Metal. Only Simone Simons and Brittney Hayes come even close. Floor can sing every style she wants from deep death growls to Powerfull Operatic notes in one sentence (listen to Revamp Mysery is no crime, LIVE @Mezz, Breda 2014), beautifull clear pop with effortless switches between registers like in Shallow (Beste Zanger 2019), HUGE Powerbelts (the famous End Note of Ghost Love Score, Nightwish Ghost Love Score Live at Wacken 2013, or Buenos Aires 2012), beautifull clear Celtic / Folky singing somethimes combined with difficult vocal acrobatics (Edehma Rue, live, Hows the Hearth, Live accoust at Planet Rock), Huge slides (many live songs, for instance Romanticide Live at Wacken 2013) Beautifull classical singing, Stabat Mater Dolorosa, Duet with Simone Simons, Epica Live at the Retrospect. etc. etc. etc. The list of things that FLOOR DOES BETTER THAN ANY OTHER METAL SINGER goes on and on and on.... I have in the past compared Floor Jansen to Ann Wilson. To be honest, I do not know if Ann could replicate "Everdream" like Floor did @ Wacken 2013, but on the other hand I don't know if Floor could replicate "Crazy On You" when Heart performed it live back in 1979. I strongly reccomend giving Ann Wilson a listen live from Heart's tour from that era. She was also magnificent!

Same here! I saw them last summer in Greece and I was in trance during the whole show. Literally everything was magical... This ending, the ending of Shoemaker, Ghost love score, the last part from the greatest show on earth where we scream "WE WERE HERE" all together! We are so blessed to have witnessed this live, I still can't believe it how lucky we are. And we will cherish these moments forever 🫶

Tarja doesn’t have to compare with floor. It’s floor who has to compare herself to Tarja and that’s all she has been doing since her time in Nightwish. Floor flopped in her previous band and only found fame from Tarja/Anette era songs (will credit Tuomas for those songs as well as Tarja’s vocal arrangements). And you may be right about that new dimension of floor’s; mediocre. Just like hers albums. Why even the new song sounds mediocre, singing is bad, music is better. Floor can’t do symphonic and orchestral like Anette or Tarja. And sounds so unnatural when she tries to. She tries to be a multi-trick pony and fails at all of them.

They just don't share their opinions in public for ethical reasons, ask them in private and they will tell you why Floor is unmatched technically. You can't compare a horse and a donkey. Sorry, these are the facts. Tuomas taught the old Nightwish fans a good lesson with firing Tarja. Fans were thinking that Nightwish was Tarja and without her they would disband. However Tuomas has shown that it was the opposite. Nightwish made Tarja and without Nightwish, she was just an ordinary singer. The old fans who attacked Tuomas for his decision has been mad to see that Tuomas was right.

Floor definitely has more range, not just in vocals but in languages and genres she can sing in. In the end though, music is an art, and if Steve Perry makes you feel a certain way, then he's the best singer for you. We all have our musical spirit animals ;-)
