Yeah... So we don't hate the idea of mod creators getting paid, that is why some of us contribute to the modders via the nexus. What we hate is when Bethesda takes existing mods and adds them to a game to make money, like when they took features from the Willow FNV mod to make followers in Fallout 4 more appealing. The survival mod is unfortunately just a mash together of the Frostfall/Campfire mods with iNeed and the survival no fast travel setting from fallout 4. that's pretty much all it is.

When the creation club was announced Bethesda talked a big game like they were going to be making the kind of DLC sized mods that take modders years to produce. Instead we got lots of skins (which there were a shit ton of the day that Skyrim came out.) If Bethesda had made shit that was on the level of Falskaar people probably wouldn't have complained as much.
@pravus97696 жыл бұрын
They are basically lootboxes, only you know what you are getting. Kinda like the extra content for Assassin's Creed Origins. All of the stuff you could buy with helix credits were weapons and outfits and mounts with different skins, and the weapons that were on it were not as powerful as some of the best weapons in the game, which was disappointing to say the least. At least the dlcs were some of the best I've seen in a long time.

SPERG's "auto-perks" is a fine idea that goes well with TES "automatically empower thing you use" levelling system. But other than that Ordinator is much better. It's filled with interesting ideas and mechanics, it has very good compatibility (unlike good old SkyRe/PerMa for example), it makes basically every skill tree worth investing into and the amount of possibilitied added by Ordinator is simply huge. In my opinion it's popularity is very well deserved.
@Fevir6 жыл бұрын
I definitely can see that. I think it falls into the same place though that any perk overhaul falls into (except made really well, support well and compatibility patches galore) where it's just variation. Perkus Maximus, Skryim Redone, TTRSO, Perk Up, etc.. these mod's appeals are interchangeable and their merit comes from giving variety. What I value from SPERG isn't the variety.. although I acknowledge that for a lot of people just the sheer amount of variety and options wins out.

Disagree when it comes to Ordinator vs SPERG. Ordinator completely changes the game, your ability to roleplay and most importantly takes previously useless things like Daggers and Frost magic and makes them viable combat options. It makes being a Spellsword actually viable for legendary difficulty. It makes destruction magic itself actually viable for Legendary difficulty without needing to exploit meat shields and exploits. It adds crowd control methods to all 3 destruction elements. It actually differentiates the choice between light armor and heavy armor outside of aesthetic choice. Of the 2 it is simply the objectively better perk overhaul. Its only overwhelming if you don't understand the mechanics behind the overhaul itself. You were never meant to max out your skill trees. You were mean't to specifically pick perks that benefit the class you play.
@lewd28516 жыл бұрын
No. *Subjectively* Ordinator is better. It depends on the wants and needs of the person playing which mod is 'better' for their playstyle. Neither mod is 'objectively' better than the other.
@lewd28516 жыл бұрын
More doesn't equal better. Objectivity exists yes, but subjective things outnumber it by far. Tell me this, if i want to play a character that fills up the entire perk tree and each perk gives him big boosts to his power ingame, but i install Ordinator and Ordinator doesn't allow me to do that, how is it objectively better? Objectivity applies when there is only one thing that does everything and is used better than all the others. Mods don't fall into that space. It doesn't matter how much more a mod adds or how from a persons POV its 'better' in the things it adds, if its not what a specific person is looking for, it is not objectively better, period.
@YoungTroy236 жыл бұрын
1. You can still fill the perk tree. Ordinator has different versions that give you more perk points per level. It breaks the game balance and turns you into a god but there is that option. There are also uncappers as well. But Vanilla Ordinator is best if you care about balance and roleplay. 2. I didn't say Ordinator is objectively the best Perk Overhaul. I said it was the objectively better then SPERG. And it is. It does everything SPERG does and better. It takes EVERY play style and makes them viable. Play styles that required exploits to be effective are now baked in. Therefore it is objectively better.
@no_nameyouknow6 жыл бұрын
@azerty azertu resulte is not an English word so it is unsurprising that he doesn't understand. You can't say this mod is objectively better, you just can't. That is dumb. Objective means it isn't a matter of preference. 20 bucks is objectively better than 10, that sort of thing. You can only use it with mods if one simply doesn't work and the other does. Otherwise it really is a matter of choice, and thus subjective. Yes, enjoyment. What else is there? When you say "better" that is what that means. If you are saying one is more technically impressive or offers more choices or more changes, then ok, but that doesn't make it better or worse really.
@CIA8716 жыл бұрын
Looking at this comment thread has made me say objective and subjective way to much today.

Personally I love the apocalypse set which adds hundreds of great new spells to make mage play through viable and also changes the skill trees to have special gimmicks like pickpocket having a cursed septum that you put into peoples pockets and it poisons and eventually kills them, or the smithing tree has a deplorable dwarves auto turret that can upgrade to shoot fire or lightning.
@GianHT6 жыл бұрын
Apocalypse only adds spells, the one regarding perks would be Ordinator, and yeah it has a lot more possibilities role-playwise, but it's also true that both those mods have been talked about a lot, so a different perk overhaul mod every now and then is also nice I guess? @kingra26506 жыл бұрын
hm but isn't that just lazy lol, it would be handy yeah I agree but not much fun imo
@skyesfury85116 жыл бұрын
The reason I don't play magic characters is because I don't find it fun to recast the skin buffs and other buffs every 5-10 real world minutes. That's not fun, that's the bad kind of tedious. I would hardly classify fixing a bad design decision as "lazy".
@Telhias6 жыл бұрын
Personally I use Sustained Magic. You cast a spell and instead of duration it decreases your maximum magicka until you recast it. Or lose it like with invisibility. It makes it so that you don't have to recast your buff spells but also penalizes you for it.
@skyesfury85116 жыл бұрын
I never could get Sustained Magic to work for me. Never could figure out why, either. I wanted to use it because I liked how it handled buffs, but for some reason, no matter where it was in the load order, or anything else, it would just never work for me. I'll have to give another shot next time I play Skyrim. Maybe it was just being moody the couple times I tried it before. lol

SPERG over Ordinator any day. Period. As stated in the video, Ordinator does not really improve anything. It tries way too hard to appear sophisticated when most of its perks have no tangible effect. "After successfully landing a sideways power attack there's a 67% chance of being able to land a critical hit within the next 2.5 seconds when using a blunt weapon that will stagger the enemy." This is of course exaggerated, but you get the idea. SPERG is the exact opposite, where less truly is more. Less complicated perks, more effect on how you actually play.
@mlakmrtkovivh99536 жыл бұрын
>Ordinator does not really improve anything. really? its adding new mechanics: bones+altar+skeletons, rats(conj) , highlighted citizens (thief eye), wire + bear trap+automatron hack (sneak), dwarf turret(Smithing), 5 altars, home teleport(alteration ), dream thief(illusion), restoration nuker, etc, etc maybe its less noticeable improvement for "INeedNoMagic" players, but there a lot >SPERG is the exact opposite hahah, sure its same: Blinding Bash 55 Lockpicking, Adventurous Parry Bashing opponents with a torch gives their attacks against you a 30% chance to become a glancing blow (10% damage) for 8 seconds.

Here is a list of graphics mods I consider pretty much mandatory, for the Special Edition. If you don't have special edition, just search the names of the mods in the standard game page on Nexus mods - I'm pretty sure all of these mods exist for the standard game too. I'm not sure what your experience with modding is, but just in-case you're new - you'll need to make an account on Nexus Mods, and then download Nexus Mod Manager and a program called LOOT. Install Mod Manager and download from the Nexus Site through the mod manager, and install them through there. Once you've got all your mods installed, run LOOT, and click a button near the top that looks like three horizontal lines of different lengths - this will load all your mods in the most optimal order, and also warn you if there are any errors and give you advice on how to fix them. Happy hunting! - Static Mesh Mod is almost mandatory if you want Skyrim to look good. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/659 - Osmodius texture overhaul updates a lot of textures. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1782 - Enhanced Lights / FX makes the lighting way better. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2424 - Skyrim Flora Overhaul makes the trees and bushes denser and way more detailed. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2154 - Realistic Water Two does the same for water. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2182 - Skyrim 2017 Textures makes tons of stuff in the game way more detailed, includes 4k textures. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2347 - Nordic Snow makes the snow textures look way better. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/670

dude WTF are you talking about in vanilla skyrim all undead and dwemer automatons are immune to poisons and of course you should be able damage to skeletons with you swords because you swords can have the strength and force to do that and especially when you upgrade and enchant them.
@thekinggoblin6396 жыл бұрын
Yeah true
@Fevir6 жыл бұрын
It's not about the specific instances of undead/dwemer being immune to x and more that the immunities and resistances are tied to the trait word system. Which have a weird form of progress that you can actually penetrate.. ie.. poison something that's poison immune if you... Know Your Enemy. Check out the nexus page if I didn't explain it well- the cool part is it's all not tied to the creature. For the sword vs skeletons.. in a fantasy game you can justify almost anything any way.. the point is that it exaggerates traditional RPG tropes.

dude Fevir you said and you meant in your video when you were talking about the know your enemies mod that in vanilla skyrim skeletons and dwemer automatons can take damage from poisons and i told you that they cannot take damage from poisons and then you said that swords should not be effective against skeletons and i told that they can be cause they have strength and force and upgrading and enchantments and that this mod makes these changes for the better and i told you that you these things are already in skyrim and the swords vs skeletons are just fine.

I think you are a bit too critical here, while Fevir did indeed mentioned about the poison thing I don't think he intended to criticize the vanilla skyrim, but rather he want to provide an alternative in the form of Know Your Enemy mod. What the mod provide is diversity, diversity in the form of how you approach the enemies and how it forces you to always be on your toe to spice things up for people who have been playing through the vanilla game again and again. Fevir did an excellent job in condensing huge amount of information into a a short time frame that is easy to understand, cut him a little slack and appreciate him a little man.

Excellent video! I really appreciate that you didn't spend time going over the visual stuff (that we all have our own preference for) and really picked some unique mods that give the game a different feel. I've always been the type of player that tries to retain a vanilla experience with some graphical improvements, but there are some mods you listed that certainly pique my interest and have me reconsidering my approach. Your game looks amazing, I might add, but I really appreciate the time and effort you put into choosing and presenting the modifications that you did. Keep up the great work! I'd love to see some "playthrough" videos from you in the future! Whether commentated or otherwise, it would be very satisfying. Thanks for sharing :)

Well now I have a reason to start playing Skyrim again. I've always fell.. Like you said, within the comfort zone mods on Nexus. (most popular all time). Never really branched out for the newer mods. Thanks for the great vid!

Having a base game that is huge in content but mediocre in gameplay helps in maintaining the creation of new mods that make the game actually fun. Also thanks for recommending mods that aren't just visuals or wacky shit.

Got to give a shout out to “Survival Configurator” It adds an MCM menu that lets you alter the creation club Survival Mode. It lets you alter many values, such as how much “very small, large” amount recovers, and making negative effects set in more gradually. But best of all, it adds thirst using the exact same system so it blends in and feels official.

I'm so sad. I looked at the Sperg mod and really wanted it, yet when I went to my console to go install it. I realized that it's not ported for Xbox. Then went to go see if I can post on the forums for it. Yet from what I can see there's no way to post and ask for it to be ported over from my phone and I don't have a computer. ;-; I just wanted to use Sperg. Ortinator is just to big and kinda feels a bit cheap

What I like to do with Know You Enemy- play with Animated Armory, which adds a ton of new weapon types with new animations, including combat staves. I play a Ranger-type character with a bow, and carry elemental arrows and a sword; but I also have a two-handed staff as a blunt option against brittle enemies.

Your dungeon and road textures look awesome. Could you possibly share what mods you use to achieve this look? I especially like the road textures at the beginning of the video.

Your game looks incredible, is there any chance of you sharing your mod list? Or at least whatever textures/ENB/etc you are using? EDIT: The reason I ask is because I notice your game looks great AND simple. I've noticed a lot of texture mods are almost too detailed, it looks great but makes it hard for me to focus on all of the detail

Legacy of the Dragonborn is pretty much single-handedly responsible for me getting back into Skyrim after so many years. I'm even trying to LP it. I personally prefer Ordinator just because the options are so interesting, but I do like the idea of automatically gaining a core set of perks as you level a skill. I'm not familiar with the other mods you mentioned, I'll have to check some of them out. Assuming they'll play nice with my current setup, of course.

Great video man! Either way I really do disagree with your point of view on SPERG vs. Ordinator, mostly because I believe Ordinator does everything and more of what you said SPERG does but still is a fun mod but I would not choose it before Ordinator.
