You know, with the advantage of hindsight, it makes sense why information around Minecraft and Steve changed so often, even from credible sources. We know that Steve took a LOT of time and effort to add into Smash due to having to change every stage to work with blocks, so it's quite possible that Steve was planned to be added earlier than he actually was, but was delayed while they updated the stages.

People have done that with Pokémon Presents in the past too I think, since they often show plushies and such in the background of such events. I do remember hearing about the purple chair thing tho. People just want Waluigi in Smash that badly.

It's crazy seeing how the series has gotten as far as it has. Growing up with melee and watching the series grow as I got older was always something I remember fondly. Hopefully the smash series can continue to adapt and live on, even when new leadership inevitably takes over. Also these videos are always great, the amount of time taken to document so many games is really remarkable.

Just came over here from the SNES facts! I love the localization and translation trivia. Games like Final Fantasy 7 can change dramatically in certain scenes. 38:00 What’s interesting about this fact is that Piranha Plant as a fighter was built off of Bowser Jr, sharing a lot of his code and unused animations. Maybe at one point in early development Plant was still tied to Jr, having parts of the Clown Car still attached to the model in animations. Of course this is all just speculation, but it’s definitely something interesting to think about.

It's so lazy of them that they didn't just cut that part or annotated over it or something. No, just throw everything together and make false statements, that's fine for a fact based channel to do. No indication that this is an old clip. - I happen to know this one was false, as proven by the released DLC. But what else have they stated in this video that is false? I don't know. It really hurts the credibility of this channel.

Melee came out at the perfect time for me, where I was old enough to navigate the internet and find rumors around unlockable characters, and young and naive enough to believe them (I'm sure if I saw them now I'd laugh at how poorly Sonic and Toad were photoshopped into the game). Being straight up lied to didn't even ruin the game for me- the mystery of never knowing who I might or might not unlock was so magical and something I sorely miss in modern games/ adulthood today!

The main reason Crash never got any references in Smash Ultimate was because of the sexual harassment allegations happening at Activision-Blizzard. And Nintendo wanted nothing to do with those controversies.
