Hi David Thanks for the lovely feature. Your handsome cousin looks like a Indian curry kid raised in the U.S!!!!. I mean this as a compliment. Also wanted to let you know that the orangish sweet is not jalebi although it looks like one. It is called Imartee or jangiri down south and made from white lentil flour where as Jalebi is made from plain flour. Of course both are truly yummy!!!!

Love your soul-satisfying savoury reaction to the foods. I like that you go full Indian while eating. And sometimes even we do not know how to mix and match the food items to get the best taste out of all the food items. Like in here, I couldn't help but notice that you either mix chutney or Sambar with Idli, Dosa, Vada to eat it. What I have experienced a better taste is mix both i.e. dip Idli, Vada... with chutney and then take a spoon of Sambar or dip a bite of those and then dip it in sambar to have a more soupy taste. Try this next time should elevate the taste.

David an advice when you eat idli next time around... pour the sambhar on the idli mash it up so that it is no more a solid but rather a pasty texture then put some chutney on top, scoop it an eat it. When you dunk it in only the top most watery gravy is absorbed by the idli and you lose out on the flavorful lentils on the bottom
