He isn't a blank and isn't psychically sensitive in any way but he's the greatest warrior of the imperium. Besting any grey knight and being an all around cool dude. Every Saturday at 5:00 pm imperial standard time he goes into the warp and enjoys a warm cup of tea with Kaldor Draigo then spends over ten septillion unstandard tzeentchian tetonomers in the warp in an epic crusade. Then exits the warp out of a random psyker, slaps Guillimans metallic asscheeks because only pussies use plot armor then goes about his day singlehandedly saving half the imperium with his legion of the damned. Wow I can embellish stories better than blind harry talking about Scottish heroes.

Excellent analysis, with one missed call-out: Bobby is the only character in The Expanse who has the guts to get right into "Designated Last Man Standing" Amos' face ready to square up with a very, VERY good chance at actually mopping the floor with him. Major Kira was often overdone and forced, especially in the first year. And her little fists repeatedly took down big male opponents throughout the series, taking the notion of female empowerment a bit too far. Bobbie's actions are far more natural and believable on screen. DS9 was a great series, though, with some excellent writing and acting.

There are so many awesome characters in The Expanse that i find it hard to rank my favorites. But Bobbie is among them for sure. So are Amos, Alex, Drummer, Miller and of course the most lovely most swearing UN politician from earth. That was one helluva introduction. I now completely understand Holden's reaction to first meeting Bobby in the books. The giant, toned Martian war goddess entered the air lock wearing little more than a skin tight racing suit. Holden felt his lizard hind brain vasillate between "mate with it" " FLEE FROM IT" " mate with it" "FLEE FROM IT". Holden managed to fumble through some conversation to Bobby's amusement.

the sandwiches bobbie instanty inhaled are a great detail because they are cucumber sandwiches, cucumbers having not enough nutritional value to justify the amount of water needed to grow them for martians, so cucumbers are a luxury product for bobbie, and im sure thats why they are there in the first place.

It's suprememly important to differentiate between Frankie Adams playing the part of a character in a book - and how good she does - and what the script or book describes. Adams did a great job, and props to who cast her in the role - another actress probably would have been a flop. Give credit to the what happened in the tv show, but give more credit to the actor filling the part so well.

Well, as far as writing is concerned, Bobbie is an interesting and complex character that goes through an arc that has her questioning her allegiances, disillusioned by what she's witnessed. She's a character that I always to keep watching to see what she does or what happens to her next. Compare that to these 40k space marines which while very good at going out and killing stuff are fairly one note. The ones that actually get names and backstories are pretty much known simply for their incredible badass feats in battle. So, in that regard, yeah they are kind of a joke.

Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!” We are proud. EDIT: It wasn't the easiest way, probably, for Bobby to get the Razorback, BUUUUUUUUUUUT... You give a Soldier a grenade and say "Take out that tank." That soldier will take out that tank, but it'll probably be sophisticated and smart (for lack of better explanation). Marine, same scenario. Runs at the tank and finds a way to take out said tank. We all get the job done, we just do it via diverse methods. Marines take it head on, because either pride or stupidity, we must get it done.

I think the Travis part was also important because he could have hurt her career. When his teammates were picking on him from being on Earth and Bobby hit him....Travis was still loyal to Bobby and his teammates. Most people would have threw them under the bus but he didn't. By not turning them in, the squad started to believe in him. Also, when Bobby went to the beach and saw Earthers struggling, I think it help Bobby understand why Travis parents left Earth to give their son an opportunity to have a greater purpose. Then the Marian government was going to place the blame on Travis which would ruin his reputation and Bobby struggled with that because she knew it was wrong and he believed in the dream of Mars. Another big thing was seeing the beach with her own eyes. When she asked the Chaplain for a chance to see the beach he even lied about the condition of the beaches. He wanted her to believe the oceans were toxic...but it was a beach. I think if he told her the truth and allowed her to see the beach she would have stayed loyal to Mars. That final lie was the straw that broke the camel's back and forced Bobby to no longer be a soldier who just executed superior orders, but to start thinking for herself.

I had to stop after the first 3 minutes for a friendly pat on the back. This is good copy. Kinda fits perfectly, like the Emperor's men only picked up a flair for the dramatic after being exposed to ancient texts on Mars.
