Tobey Parker preventing Tom Parker from killing Green Goblin was his redemption at failing to stop himself from killing Uncle Ben's supposed killer. No one was there to stop him from it so he made sure he was there to stop Tom Parker. He (Tobey) became the person he needed the most at the time of his own dark path.

Zendaya’s MJ is without a doubt the most accurate Gen-Z character in any superhero movie. She reminds me of so many people I know, including some of my best friends. Flash too but he mostly reminds me of assholes who picked on me in high school (who also had crappy home lives).

The we don’t trade lives line is the inverse of the message. It’s where the Avengers went wrong in Infinity War, and it’s in direct contrast to “Whatever it takes” in Endgame. The whole theme of both of those movies is that you need to be willing to make sacrifices.

@bjarkisteinnpetursson9736
@bjarkisteinnpetursson9736 2 жыл бұрын
What Captain America meant by “trading lives” was sacrificing one life for another (or others). Peter didn’t sacrifice Aunt May’s life. Osborn murdered her to anger Peter. He did however trade his relationships for the villains’ lives and then decided not to reintroduce himself to them because he felt their lives would be better without him. Peter sacrificed his own life for his friends.

I know this is an older video, but I think that maybe the reason they had Peter not stop himself from killing Goblin was to show he's struggling with self-control. And that could be the setup for the next movie, if the leaks are true. His lack of control will play into the symbiote suit corrupting Peter.

the original line in the comics was written more of a voice over with the exact quote being, "And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come - great responsibility!" If you were to read the comic, it wouldnt come from anyone in particular. i believe uncle ben said it later on in the comics and with that knowledge it works here 100%. sure uncle ben is crucial in other Spiderman's lives but miles doesn't have an uncle ben, why does mcu peter have to have one? Its more so if the character who says it actually brings that out in that spiderman. and i whole heartedly believe aunt may does here. not only in FFH but in the opening scenes of this one aswell

They also used James Horner's 'Young Peter' theme from The Amazing Spider-Man in some of Garfield's moments. It's simultaneously haunting and uplifting and always gives me chills, but sadly seems to be quite underrated. When the characters repeat lines from the other movies I think of it in 2 ways kind of. 1. It's inevitable that they say those things. There seem to be certain things that are "bound to happen", quite literally. These characters were going to say these things. 2. These lines that come from these characters are born from within their character, or personality. Again, but on a less grand scale, it was bound to happen.

we don't trade lives is a captain America thing, it is actually the reason for the Avengers failure in Infinity war. the Avengers win in Endgame because Doctor Strange was willing to trade lives, he knows he is setting up Tony's death in when he saves him in infinity war. Both of those movies are essentially about what are you willing to sacrifice to get to your goal.

I think they want to have a 9 film series of Tom Holland. I've been saying for a while now that the first 2 movies tread ground that felt quickly moved past in other adaptations. So we had 3 movies of young high school Peter Parker, now we are entering his living alone trying to balance College and being the best Spider-man be can be, and you have to expect this will transition to the rekindling with MJ and the mature arc. Each section could easily be 3 movies.

To clarify, Ben Parker is a thing in the MCU In Civil War, Peter repeats his mantra, just in a different way "When you can do the things that I can, but you don't... and then the bad things happen... they happen because of you." In Homecoming he's *very* vaguely alluded to when Peter is talking to Ned about all of the hardships May has been put through in recent memory (there's also a cut scene where May was going to give Peter some of Ben's old clothes) And in Far From Home, Peter uses Uncle Ben's old suitcase to pack for his field trip. I think that what they wanted to was use Aunt May to reaffirm Uncle Ben's message when Peter needs it most, rather than straight up pull a switcheroo. It's one thing I knock against MCU Spider-Man as a whole, since it's just not at all clear what happened to Uncle Ben

Is this Marvel/Disney movie or is this Sony movie? I assumed all of the Sony licensed characters in this movie makes this less of an MCEU movie. Also the "With great power comes great responsibility" line was always misquoted from the books which Uncle Ben never said to Peter originally until many decades later in multiple rebooted origins and the Raimi film. The actual quote was a narrative that Peter figured out by himself and the quote was rephrased in 2000 which came from “AND A LEAN. SILENT FIGURE SLOWLY FADES INTO THE GATHERING DARKNESS, AWARE AT LAST THAT IN THIS WORLD, WITH GREAT POWER THERE MUST ALSO COME -- GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.” Uncle Ben was basically reciting a known adage as old as the bible to Peter in the Raimi film but the phrase can also be currently considered The Peter Parker Principle which, being a science geek, he came up with again by himself.

9/10. Weakness if the movie is definitely Dr. Conners. Also Maguire villians had most of the spot light and drove the entire movie along with not too much added from Garfields' verse. Hopefully Garfield gets another chance to finish his series because dammit he killed it this time around and I didnt love his initial portrayal nor hated it but i really loved it this time around. Back to Dr. Conners. I wish they switched hin to Garfields' the Harry Osborn because there could have been a lot more done in terms of interactions with Green Goblin and also spiderman. I'm a little sad you didn't talk about venom staying in the universe which to me was a disappointment because it breaks the rules set from the initial spell and sending them all home.

What I have taken away from your review, is that all the dark stuff Peter Parker did in this film, that was stopped by other people around him, plus all the loss he has experienced, is going to set up for the Symbiote Spider-man to be REEEEEAAAALLLLY dark in the next film. He will have all the motivations to be dark and vicious.
@tsunami8242
@tsunami8242 2 жыл бұрын
Well he was starting to get dark and revengeful but he was brought back to the light by the other versions so it will be awkward to just get dark again randomly. If they left him sad and angry at the end of the movie I would have understood but not with this ending. But maybe life will hit Peter again and get angry and that is when the Symbiote comes in to play.

@@tsunami8242 it wouldn't be awkward. The other guys stopped him from doing something bad. But when he is on his own (as he is now) and has no one to hold him back, what decisions will he make? Especially with the difficulty of have literally no friends. There is nothing awkward about it.

@@jesusbarrera6916 what has he learned? He never made those decisions for himself. He was led to those decisions. He was guided. When no one is left to lead or guide, what decisions will he make?

I'm glad I got myself to go see this movie. I think this movie convinced me that I am done with Super Heroes and its time to move on. It was a fine movie but I left feeling like I wasted 20$, not bad at all but not worth more than the 5$ to rent it. I wish I loved Marvel movies like people do, but this movie has just made me realize its not my thing. Glad to see people really loved this one so much, though wish I could join in for sure.

It was pretty far off from perfect. A chaotic messy masterpiece if you will. Worth the watch
